I do believe in ghosts to a certain extent. I believe that there are people who can see them and talk to them, and there are technologies that exist to allow people to witness their existence in some fashion if they're there. I believe that there has to be another species on another planet somewhere in the universe. I don't think we'll ever meet, I don't think aliens have grand plans of taking over earth, and I don't believe that people are abducted by aliens.

So you're using Argumentum ad populum?

No, I've lived long enough to know that people=crazy is the biggest universal constant ever.

I don't believe in ghosts, but aliens have got to exist somewhere out there. Except, as said earlier, unless there's some way to bash a huge hole in our understanding of physics there's no way we'll make contact anytime soon.

There's a difference between arguing logic and stating my opinion. I am allowed to have faith in what some people say.

And I doubt you've lived much longer than I have.

But you were arguing logic...
You said, quite explicitly, that there are so many stories that some of them must be true (Or that there must be some grain of logic to them, at any rate)

Oh my goodness. If you're going to get technical, just ignore what I said, for god's sake.

I don't believe in any of that supernatural stuff. I can't help but sort of believe in psychic traces, as in I don't think people can actually read minds or see the future, but sometimes people have a slight psychic bond, where they end up thinking the same thing a lot, and it's too often or too obscure for it to be a coincidence, even when they're two people who've known each other a while. And there can be such a thing as catching very tiny glimpses of the future, usually not really knowing what they are until it happens. Same with picking up tiny bits of people's thoughts on rare occasions. I dunno, that's my take. It's not that I really think it's possible, it's just that I feel like it is, and can't convince myself otherwise.

As for aliens, of course I believe in people from other countries! I'm not your typical US egotist, after all...as for extraterrestrial life, I do believe in it. I really don't think there's anything on Mars or whatever. But waaay out there, somewhere, I think there's life, quite possibly more civilized and/or advanced than our own planetary society. The Earth is livable only by a series of huge coincidences. In the infinite universe, it's not impossible for the same things to happen, maybe +/- a few unimportant details, and even less impossible for a different set of coincidences to result in life. It seems very, very improbable to me, and if the universe weren't as unfathomably enormous as it is, I'd definitely reject the idea as too improbable to believe.

If you want a wonderful book on the matter of Metaphysics then read this:

Do Dead People Watch Me In The Shower: And Others Questions People Ask Mediums (I think thats the title) By Concetta Bertoldi.

She's a very funny medium with a very wonderful talent. It really helped me feel at ease about hauntings and death.

What you mean is "If you are going to take what I say at face value due to psychological conditions, then I'll stop misusing words so blatantly" I think.

well i believe in ghosts and aliens, but seeing as I have hallucinations I do question what I see ALOT.
I've had my experiences with ghosts and 'spirits' but when it comes to things like people thinking they've been abducted by aliens, that's when my belief just stops.

I think she means "This is pointless, please drop it". And I'd be inclined to agree. :)
