regarding the permanence of tattoos... I got one on my lower back, and I really think that's the best spot if you aren't sure if you'll still like it or not. I never have to look at it, and I usually forget I have it until someone brings up tattoos. Actually, I couldn't tell ya the last time I looked at it, now that I think about it.
For those who are interested, it is a pink ankh (the egyptian sign of life) with the word "diosa" written underneath, which means goddess in spanish. (Just putting goddess might have been trite, as all those goddess/princess things were out then, so I found the prettiest translation I could).
I have my next one in mind (a small pink elephant), but I'm not sure where to put it. I might like it on my shoulder, but I refuse to do it before I get married, so it doesn't peek out

I have my ears pierced once because my conservative!parents won't let me get anything else. But the day I turn 18, I'm getting my lip pierced. And I want to get my ears pierced a few more times.
As for tattoos, I don't think I'd get one. If I ever find a word or symbol that meant a lot to me, a very small tattoo may be in order. I have a very high pain tolerance, so that wouldn't bother me. I wouldn't get something that I might hate three days later, though.

I wrote the following on NeoLodge:
I don't have any of either, though.
I don't care, really. Heck, if you wanna pierce your lip in three places, go right on ahead. If you want green hair (I personally want my brown hair streaked with pink), go ahead. It's all about expressing yourself.
Actually, when I grow up, I'm planning on getting a small diamon earring in my nose. XD Of course, that's when I grow up and am out of my parent's house..

I planned on getting my nose pierced...but in the middle, with a big hoop, like a bull.
My dad always joked about it, saying that I SHOULD get it down, so he could hook a chain onto it and drag me around like a bull, haha, I was so for it until I got a buisness job, now I don't want it, lol.

So far I only have one piercing in each ear, but I might get a second ear piercing when I get older. I love having my ears pierced, but a few months ago I got a new hairstyle and you can't see my earrings anymore, but I'm hoping that I might be able to fix my hair some way that you can see my ears without my hair looking awful.
I would never get a tattoo, though. I can handle needles, but only for a short period of time. I couldn't stand having someone poking me with a needle for hours, and I don't think it's worth the pain or the money to get a tattoo that I'd probably get tired of, anyway.

It's various things.
If you're thinking sternum, thats the bone/cartiledge in the rib cage. I'd get my nose pierced, but it'd just make me look like an orc.

Evisceration is a sign of respect.
