If your petpet turns into an avatar petpet can you get the av from that?

I saw someone ask to same question on the HC, and we came to the conclusion that it would be logical if as long as the petpet stays attached to your pet, it's "real" enough to get you an avatar.

It's logical, but, of course, we don't know for sure.

I'm pretty sure I saw somebody post that they had gotten the slorg avatar from their petpet turning into a slorg. Not proof or anything, but I am confident that you can trust the person.

Nothing looks different about Spiffy but you can sense something happened. It becomes evident later when it tries to climb a tree but breaks off the branch instead. The ray has increased its level to: 3
