If you press Print Screen, then load up Paint (or pbrush if using the run command) and select Paste from the Edit menu, does the screen shot show up?
If not, carry on reading.

Do you have a Function Key. Sometimes called F Lock or Fn Key?
Try press it, then press Print Screen.
Now load up Paint again and select Paste from the Edit menu.
Does it appear now?
If not, sorry I don't know what the problem is. Try looking for a freeware program to do the job for you.
