You mean Viridian? It's there because you need it for the puzzle in the Viridian Room.

Hey, if you look through the key hole you can see the starting room for the Crimson room.

and at the end the skeleton comes to life, A nice magic box appears in your hands, and you probably wasted 6 hours trying to beat the game
