Grr Antidisestablishmentarianism the Word of the day

Fri Jul 23, 2004 10:11 am

Grr they stole it from an episode of a Pup-Named-Scooby-Doo.

Whoever made it I'm angry with them because they messed up the biggest legal word that shouldn't be on neopets for 6 years younger.

:roflol: tehehe, i find it funny actually, to have that long thing as the word of the day, i can barely say it without laughing or taking a big breath, then laughing.

i've never watched that show, so i really don't know *shrugs* is it in the dictionary?

Lol. They didn't steal it from Scooby Doo. It's a real word and anyone can use it. :)

Here's an entry from dictionary.com:

Main Entry: antidisestablishmentarianism
Function: noun
Definition: originally, opposition to the disestablishment of the Church of England, now opposition to the belief that there should no longer be an official church in a country

:)

the biggest legal word that shouldn't be on neopets for 6 years younger

I don't understand this part of your post. Are you saying that kids shouldn't know this word?

Yeah I know it was the word of the day a while ago. Bah, who reads the word of the day anyway? It's a word and today is a day...fits fine to me.

If that can get it, I wonder how the word for the fear of long words will go over. :P I forget how you spell it, but I know that it's a phobia and it begins with H.

Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia. You know the doctors who came up with that one had a cruel sense of humor.

...or the Greeks/Latins did. That's where most of those prefixes come from. Thanks! *sticks it in Notepad for now*

Something I wonder --when they first started the Word of the day stuff, they noted you'd get a prize if you put it in something like the caption contest or storytelling entry

....
Just how the heck can you put "Antidisestablishmentarianism" into something like that?
