Actually, the Ona plushies and Hello Kitty (another Sanrio character) merchandise are both sold at Limited Too. Either Sanrio doesn't look into what other merchandise is being sold with theirs or they just don't care.

I would think that they are distinguishable enough that there isn't the smell of lawsuits in the air. It's to say that they were more inspired by them rather than ripping them off.

Erm, people need to seriously look into what's required to sue for copyright infringement; the ona's a blue bear with a star theme going on, and Illusen's a hot red-haired chick wearing green... Similar, sure, but there's no reason why they had to be influenced by already existing characters.
