That's a great idea! You'd definitely have to tell people in the News exactly how to get it... and then add the "Remember never to give out your pass...." schpeel on the Avatar RE... perhaps that would work? It's not like people don't try to scam off other avs already, unfortunately.

The avatar would fool the newbies into changing their password to "secure" or whatever the av says. It's a too great a chance for hackers.

That's a pretty good idea. I like it! But yeah, maybe some newbies would be fooled by some scammers...

"How, omg, tell me plz?!?!"
"Just change your password to avatar..."
"Okay, thanx, I will test tat out!!"

Well, you know the outcome. Maybe you should do a quiz of some sort to get the avatar? Like the one for the I heart Sloth avatar? It would ask some security questions, and if you answer them right, you get the avatar.

I got another idea so people would want to be Chia Floured. You get an avatar if someone uses it on you.

Chia Flour is insanely expensive though, and it's retired (I think). It'd boost the price up another 5 million NP.

I still think the avatar idea is a good'un.


*shrugs* I couldn't care less if scammers leap for joy at the prospect of having the easiest scam yet. Even if the Team didn't add a notice with the avatar's release. Let the mooks dumb enough to fall for the scams be hacked into. It'll teach them a lesson. There are notices in a good few areas of the site that everyone visits that states that you should never share your pass.


...But I'm mean. o0 Maybe because I have short patience for people who've fallen for half-arsed scams, since I've never fallen for one, and surely if moronic, gullible little ME didn't fall for it, then others wouldn't either. And with being hacked into, more of the chatspeaking mooks with no common sense whatsoever will be tempted to leave Neopets. Tada.

i think the idea of getting the av by answering security questions is better, but then scammers could still trick gullible ppl if it wasnt announced to take the quiz.... they probably could trick people even if it was announced, as if you're going to fall for something as stupid as that, you're not likely to check the news.
