maybe this year, neopets will make it so that the late people on will get the good items.

That Hero "avatar" is an AIM buddy icon...and theres always people doing false inflation, its the dolts on the chatboards that actually believe it and skyrocket the price.

Recently there was the peophin "avatar" that needed a certain card (there was no proof of the avatar at all, just some newbie posting that his friend works on TNT or something....and that STILL made the card unbuyable and back down again).

This will only stop if TNT starts tracking their IP to their main hoarding account.

Scream, you took the words out of my mouth. I read through the posts, saw that "avatar" and thought, hmm, that's probably an im icon.

This has happened more than once. Someone gets the url for a "secret" or "unreleased" avatar only to find that it is an icon.

Personally? I may not have the most np, I may not make a fortune on any of these speculations because I don't jump and buy up the item being rumored about, but them I'm not stuck with something I'm going to take a loss on, I won't feel foolish for listening to a rumor, and I can sleep at night knowing I didn't take part in false inflation. Like Shapu, my momma didn't raise a cheat either

woah, morningstar, i didn't know about that, seriously. it was because at the last advent calendar event, i was on a long break from neopets and basically just got on to do my dailies each day. i got the white ona and snow pppb but didn't know they were switched. i know that the blue fir and snowbunny were released on the same day at the advent calendar b4 the last.
