I would like to try to restock at a petpet shop, but I can't decide in which shop to restock... any advise would be greatly appreciated :)

I'd suggest spooky petpets. There's usually quite a few there and lots of time for you to haggle with. Most of the other petpet shops have heaps of people restocking them already.

There is no good or bad side, just two sides holding different views.

thanks for the tip, just restocked a melton there for 12000, it's not a major restock, but a good start ;). Does spooky petpets restock more often than the other petpet shops?

All shops restock at the same time (within a few seconds of one another, since the shops, afaik, are updated in numberical order).
