They were kind enough to just add that we aren't allowed to sell faeries over EBay and left it at that.

Neopets still continues to freeze accounts for no justifiable reason.

If they want to freeze accounts for artificial inflation, they have the right, but they should have the common, humane decency to write down that it is a freezable offense.

I understand you're upset over the way TNT treats their users. Alot of people can relate, you have reason to be upset. But must every single thread degrade to this? I'm certainly not one to start up a "Reasons we love TNT" thread, and I've done my share of complaining, but it's all been said and complaining on this forum isn't going to do too terribly much good.

I completely agree. I only complain about very particular things.
I feel that Neopets should put public relations and the basic needs of the user first. I complain about this because it is a known fact that TNT occasionally browses, if not partakes in this forum. I can only hope that they pick up on the growing distrust and dissatisfaction in the general neopian community because they sure as h-e-double hockey sticks ain't getting it from their user feedback, which I would question on it being read at all.

I do not complain about what pets look like or any other artistic decisions because it is THEIR site and I am very outspoken on an artist preserving their own artistic vision, no matter how much I dislike it.

Simple business decisions or matters of common courtesy are another matter.
If I give a suggestion, I expect it to be read. When it is read, I say thank you. They say, you're welcome.
If they say, I'm going to make a cheeseburger and take a picture of it and show it to you on March the 3rd, I expect them to take a picture of their cheeseburger and show it to me on march the 3rd. If that doesn't work out, and they promise it on the next week, I expect it the next week.

Its a simple matter of expecting them to treat the users like human beings and holding them accountable when they don't

Also, thank you for not being one of the "Yippy skippy for TNT" thread makers. I think we all acknowledge that they've created a wonderful site. It just makes it that much more painful when the full potential is wasted. The hope that they can stop this and create what could viably one of the most entertaining sites on the internet is THE primary reason why I complain.

The only problem with this is that a product is only worth what a person is willing to pay for it. You can buy all the cheap ones and try to double the price but that doesn't mean your going to make a profit. If no one wants to pay that price then you're just out of luck. The only way this type of thing really ever pays off is if there's some rumor going around that the item is somehow more vaulable.

Like a year ago with Liquid Goo. Some people got together and bought up a bunch of liquid goos, then they started a rumor that it now froze opponents in the battledome. The price skyrocketed, but it was only momentarily. Once wind of it not being true got around, a lot of people got antsy and started undercutting each other. Which is usually what happens. You could make a ton of money, or you could lose everything.

I personally don't think it will work, but I can't stop anyone from trying.

You'd be annoyed if you were on quest 35 and you needed a R99 that probably wouldnt cost that much, except for the fact that a bunch of "investors" had jacked the price up to something stupid.

You can only really do artificial inflation with something that a lot of people want, and then you'll always get someone who wants to make a quick profit and sells lower, causing panic selling, driving the price down until you, the guy who was asleep whilst all this was happening, has got 500k of items in your shop which are now worth 45k.

It's people like you that make Neo not fun to play. Don't inflate things, you WILL be reported and you WILL be frozen. Not to mention it's not fair to Questers or other people that want to buy that item.

Or, if you're really rich, you could buy up like all the Sinsis Swords, discard all of them but one, and... Well. Yeah. That wouldn't work too great, but it would still be kinda fun. :D

Well I'm sure people werent too pleased when V_team hoarded a load of faerie slingshots and then got hacked

Imagine if people did that with piles of dung. IT VOOD TAKE OVER ZE WORLD!!!

I agree. Although it should be an advantage, kind of, when you get frozen for nothing you can just throw it back in their faces and say that there wasn't something on any part of the site specifying that what you had done was wrong.

Then they would probably ignore you.

well all you have to do is create a diffrent acount on an other e-mail name and transerfer the money to the other acount i have been tring to bet some one to help me inflate items for months. if you want to help inflate my fake acount is saint_komoku

Funny how I have almost 3 million neopoints and have never cheated. Why don't you just play the game and stop worrying about how to take advantage of it. It sucks the fun out of it. ^^;

I doubt it. 'Course, I believe in karma. Not to mention that there will always be mistakes to make, that one gamble you just can't say no to, and you'll get caught. Also, considering TNT can track your IP address, so they know ALL your account names, you've given us one, and anyone could easily report you. It's not like TNT doesn't occasionaly flow through these threads, you know.

Thu Jun 24, 2004 6:39 pm

Ha, do you REALLY think you're going to get rich off this?

Pfft, try making a real investment and you could actually make some profit.

Wise investments and rsing, combined with none of this stupid artificial inflation that doesnt actually work, id made 21 million NP in a year. Plus 2 million NP that tnt gave me then froze me for :roflol:

These "investments" are little more than pyramid schemes. The guy at the top starts the scheme. Once he has conned enough people into joining him, they all buy an item and put it up for a high price. In the unlikely even that there is any desire for the item, the guy at the top will undercut all you helpful people at the bottom of the pyramid by lowering his prices, which will make him a profit.

Just like with the goo

your right on that but i have a generator so it would be hard to track that

There was a question asked to the neopian times...and donna said cornering the market was allowed. it was a good deal of time ago....but i think is should still be in effect (unless of course TNT changed the rules ;) )
