Hideous!

I liked the style of purple like the old Zafara had before it caught the disease.

They look good on a couple pets, but a lot could do without them. If I had a choice I'd just leave them totally purple.

Yuck. I voted hideous. Those colors are almost complimentary on the color wheel.

Can you say "clash"?
I'd like it if they were solid purple... but those orange things are just nasty.

Hahah, okay fess up, who voted they look cool?
i did! i really think they look cool! i think one person came up with the idea that they don't look cool and they look infected... and everyone immitated that.

direct translation of how we call them in dutch: Beauty spots :)

1. the color combination is good
2. the spots don't make them look infected, they make the purple stand out

thank you *waits for applaus*

Erm, I hate to argue, but if that's true, then you must dislike blue, yellow, green, red, orange, pink or any of the other solid colourfills for being a plain colour. Compare some of these, old and new:

NEW:

OLD:

Now, which of these looks better to you? The old Jetsam had great shading and was a fantastic shade of purple. The new one has lost most of its shading, has become a worse shade of purple, and has gained three ugly spots on its cheek. Are you familiar with diseases such as herpes and measles? That's what these look like.

Let's compare some more:

New on the left, old on the right:

The new Shoyru has gained three fugly spots on its cheek, and is now a blinding, ugly shade of indigo. Nobody is telling me the new one is better.

The Korbat has also gained three oversized freckles on its cheek, and has become a nasty shade of lilac that nobody in their right mind would keep if they had previously owned the purple version.

"Waah! We used to look so good"

Furthermore, nobody is telling me this ain't overkill:

[b]"Oh no! We're diseased"

And finally, the spots on this are just wrong:

*waits for his applause*

And finally, the combination of purple and orange is not attractive. Blue and orange, yes, and purple and yellow, but not purple and orange. And it so makes them look diseased.

I think that's pretty stupid.

It's annoying. It looks like it has a disease.

Thank you, Chris! :) Your essay was informative... and funny.

I could've sworn I saw better looking purple-and-orange pets before...either it was my imagination, or they got rid of them. Now...most of you guys are right, they do look hideous. O_o

I think it really depends on the pet. Some of them look quite nice with the orange and purple.. Others look slightly diseased.

I like the purple on the Kau a little better... it doesn't look as glowy... but it could do without the orange.

Awful and horrible. Now i think that I could as well zap my purple poogle.

Some of them look cool. Some of them are hideous. Maybe they should have a regular purple paint brush and a purple-with-orange-spots paint brush, for those who think some look cool and some... don't.

I think on some pets they look fine, but on others they look really bad. The pets might be better off without them.

What if there was a Freckle Paint Brish? No matter what color your pet is, it would put freckles on it. That way, if you liked the spots, you could have them on any pet, not just the weirdly contrasting purple ones. :)

That's how I feel.
