Last week I reported 3 stolen artwork from the ixi section... One that was by an artist who entered the gallery, another one who can be found when you search ixi on google, and another witch was a drawing of an ixi DONE BY NEOPETS! how can they not reconize their own work.

Aswell as yesterday, when I found 3 more stolen ixi pictures, including one of the new ixi shopkeepers...

My gosh, I'll say I'm annoyed, I finally got my pet entered, just to find out that it's got a bug where people can't vote for it. It's a good thing TNT doesn't live next door.

But yeah, on topic, I think it's pathetic how many entries are just modifications of the normal site pix. Of course, that was what my first entry was, but still. I guess it's just all the new users flooding the BC.

Btw: if any of you wouldn't mind submitting a bug report for me, just so TNT gets flooded with bug reports telling them to unbug my entry, I'd be highly grateful.

I once entered as an experiment/joke a 'jubko' to the beauty contest, and they rejected it, so i dont see why they're letting these ones through... hmmm i wonder if i still have that jubko picture anywhere... lol

I did submit my own proper pics one week tho, and won a couple of trophys.

I seriously don't know why anyone is botherd. If you see something that shouldn't be there (Like the simpsons cat) then report it. Theres nothing anyone can do about the terrible quality of art and cut and pastes in there, since it's a varied ages webisite.

I only get mad when a popular player wins with a crappy cut and paste silouette of their pet. No names mentioned there...

But a good percent of the snide ones get no votes. And now they don't show the votes, mine and Mikes acara Fellarae was able to get at least a silver trophy. We'd not have stood a chance before since people were lazy and only voted for #1 spot pets. More so if they saw a popular players name on the list.

I rarely even go to the BC anymore to be honest unless it's someone on my nf list who's entered and it's like their first or second time entering (and as long as it's not just a copy and paste - I don't think I could vote for something like that).

Having no artistic talent myself (can't draw a straight line), I'd never enter. I thought you had to do something though, I didn't think a straight copy and paste default neo image (even if you colored in the background) would even be accepted in the bc.

I do like that they don't show votes anymore, it does seem to be helping more people get more votes. However, as far as winning? It still looks to be a popularity contest as opposed to voting on something that's well drawn. Either the person who wins gold is "famous" or they're popular in a large guild. That's my observation anyway.

Remeber Stev3n, cinful girl's pet? It was really badly drawn using paint, but won 1st overall anyway because she's so popular. 3rd was just a copy and paste picture.

When I made my post earlier about how bad pictures win because a lot of people know about those users, that's exactly the pet I had in mind. That picture obviously took 5 min, yet all the beatiful ones got so few votes because they aren't "popular" enough. I just can't stand that.

Hey now, it is one thing to complain about pictures that have been stolen from neopets or other sites directly, but there is no reason to criticize someone else's artwork when they haven't asked you to. Regardless of how much effort you think they put into it, it is still their art and should be respected.

Hmmm.. I've seen some there that probably did take only 5 minutes to do. I can do a much better one in 5 minutes, but it wouldn't be my best work either. Reading this reminded me of two reasons why I never entered the BC before.

1. If it's not divided by at least age of player, then I won't compete, because I'd hate to take away a win from a kid who deserves it. - Same goes for "actual" Art Contests, so yes I'm consistant.

2. It seems to be more a popularity contest rather than a serious art contest, but what can you expect when you have people voting?

I'd rather try to get into the art gallery. At least I know if I don't make it, it's because the judge at the time didn't like it, for some reason or another.

I agree with that. I don't enter the beauty contest anymore because it is often based on popularity (not always) and they do need a better system. I think that not showing who was in first at the time of voting was a step in the right direction, but they need to do a lot more. And they definently need to work out a better way to decide what is accepted and rejected. I can't believe my drawn pictures have been rejected for some reason or another when this blatenly stolen stuff is allowed. I personally think they should change the rule so the work has to be all original and no manipulation of their images. I think it'd just be better that way.

I thought/think it goes to the BC, but then there wouldn't be the catrules link, would there?
I sometimes report chat messages that go against the rules or somewhat, but I've NEVER reported someone just because I dislike them! Gah! Now I'm paranoid u_u
