Theory on Faerie Quests

Sun Jul 25, 2004 5:47 am

I just realized something. I usually get Faerie Quests (advertised as Random Events) after doing three or so of the other quests that you can sign up for (Edna, most notably). You guys think that's the trigger?

Sun Jul 25, 2004 5:58 am

you might be on to something :) I used to do a ton of quests before and got faerie quests nearly everyday, but now I've stopped and I'm lucky to get 1 every fortnight. Maybe it is a trigger.
I've just done 4 edna's quests as a test. let's see if it works :)

Hmmm... I very rarely do any sort of quests (except Faerie ones) so I don't think that doing x amount of quests could be the only way of getting Faerie Quests. I usually get Faerie Quests when I'm chatting and refreshing at the Neoboards, I usually don't realise I got them until I go to the Shop Wizard ;) Obviously the more refreshing you do the more likely you are to get a Quest as there are more opportunities but I suppose there could always be some grouping of triggers or something like once you get over 1,000 refreshes the likelihood increases?

It's been stated there's nothing that "triggers" random events as far as donating to the Money Tree, I think the same would apply to your theory. It may be a coinsidence. Personally I've gone weeks without doing quests, but still have recieved an occasional faerie quest during that time.

huh, strange, i did 3 edna quest and I did get a faerie quest

I need Denim Coveralls

It makes sense though... otherwise, what would be the point of Edna's quests? They don't get harder with better prizes, nor do they serve Esophagor's purpose. I'm trying three in a row again to see, but I really do think this is the trigger. Anyone other than Untouchable dragon and ocean wave have experiences like this? I mean, I'm thinking that you can still get them randomly, it's just that doing edna's quests pay off with a guaranteed one.

I haven't and I've done 100s of Edna quests in the past in order to get the Edna *cackle* avatar. I don't think there really needs to be a point to Edna's quests- you do something for her and you get something in return (more often then not its not worth it)- I think that is the point! Its pretty much the same as the Kitchen and Snow Faerie Quests.

Hmm... I've just done three in a row again and I'm not getting a Faerie Quest... alas, I must eat my words.

...or maybe it's just one a day...

...

...

...

...pass the salt?

I don't think it's related, because I haven't done any of those requests for months. And a couple of weeks ago I got two quests in 8 minutes (both from the Water Faerie. Lazy little creature, isn't she?)

Sun Jul 25, 2004 7:13 am

Meh. All I ever get are water and air faerie quests, and the occasional dark faerie quest. At least I don't get those worthless earth faerie quests, but its been ages since I've had a fire faerie one.

Never have had faerie queen or rainbow faerie (or whatever the rainbow fountain faerie is called) quests, and I know someone who has had TWO rainbow quests!

I do my 10 Kitchen Quest every day and I can tell you that there is no connections to the faeri quests you get ...

The different theories that I saw in the last 2 years are
- Related to how much you give to the money tree - No
- If you pet is in the delighted! mood - No

It's random. But you must know that you won't get quests if
- You're shopping
- restocking
- Using the Shop Wizard

The best places are the non flash games like
- Neggsweaper
- Pyramids
- Dice-A-Roo

And Neoquest/Neoquest II.

I'm pretty sure it's not related. I haven't done a snowfaerie/kitchen/edna quest for ages and the other morning I got both a faerie queen quest and a darkness faerie quest. It's probably just a coincidence. :)

It's random -- no "but."

The more often you go to or refresh a page, the more often a random event will (randomly) occur. I'm sure I've received one while shopping by using the wiz. (Of course, that put a stop to that shopping.)

There is a point to Edna's quests: at one point in time, her quests were worthwhile as long as you didn't pay more than about 400 nps for what she asked for. Prior to the installation of the Test Your Strength game, the spooky food she gives out used to be much more valuable than it is now. Because that game gives out the same food as her quests, it dropped drastically in value. The spooky food that goes for 10-50 nps now used to go for several hundred. Spooky doughnuts, peanut butter spiders, and blumaroo steaks were worth 700 nps. So, if you spent less than 400 nps and got a blumaroo steak and 200 nps in return, it was a decent quest.

And, I don't think the general quests are tied at all to the faerie quests. I do the general quests all of the time--if they are economically feasible that is (i.e., expected benefit exceeds cost). Every day, I go to the kitchen dude, witch, esophagor, and Snow Faerie and ask for a quest and return as soon as the time limit is up so I can ask for another one. I often complete several of them a day (once I did esophagor's quest 6 times in a row and another time I did the Snow Faerie 4 times in a row--got great stuff from both). And, I rarely ever get faerie quests.

On the other hand, my daughter never does quests and she's best friends with these little faeries--always asking her for something or another. She even got a rainbow faerie quest recently. She constantly lurks on the chat boards--maybe that's the connection--because she is doing a lot of non-"shop wiz" page refreshes.
