I just thought of something.....

Since there are so many glitches, so many people abusing them, and the economy being messed up by the shops, isn't it quite possible that there will be a rollback?

Possibly. I wouldn't see it happen on purpose though, I just think it'll be another glitch.

in certain cases, arollback may be even worse. some shops got emptied when there was a rollback recently...some got extra item and other has extra np in their till.

They didn't do it when that password glitch happened and all the rich players got hacked... So I don't see them doing it now.

And anyway, from what I see, codestones havn't really droped in prices despite the tombola glitch, and the igloo RSing all day....

Nothing has really changed much...

You should check the prices of faeries--they have dropped 1000 nps.

Eck.. I hope they don't do a rollback.. that would be major sucky sucky

Magic cookies have dropped like 4k :(

Sun Jul 25, 2004 7:47 am

I don't really think Neopets would do a rollback.. that'd be just... wrong.

I don't see a rollback because of this weekend. People who took advantage of the tombola/scratchcard/omelette glitches? Some have already been frozen.

The shops and igloo restocking I don't think could be considered taking advantage of a glitch. As long as you're honestly restocking and you're buying things, how could that possibly be considered taking advantage? And who's to say that the fast restock is a glitch? TNT may well be working on the system, trying different codes or whatever out. If they freeze people for restocking, the site will be empty!

I agree with Shifty, if they didn't do a rollback after that security glitch I seriously doubt they'd do one now.

Yes, Fallen, you are right there, magic cookies are dropping. But I think once the shop restocks go back to normal, that prices will stabilize.

Yes, yes it would... *pats candychan* :ninja:

As soon as restocks go back to normal, prices will creep back up. It may take a month or two to get the whole way back to "typical" prices, but the economy will recover.

(Why do I feel so silly referring to neopets as an "economy"?)

ID WISH for a rollback, I was recently hacked and lsot over 7mil! :(

There's one thing that you're over-looking in your analysis here: fluctuation.

Faerie prices have been 4.7kish for a very long time, this shows that they have about an equal supply and demand to leave them at that price over a very long period of time. A few thousand free faeries on the site (mind you there are millions of players) isn't going to do any lasting damage. In fact, Balthazar (or someone) gives tons of them away at the money tree every week.

As for the magic cookies, they have their own demand, and while it may not be as constant and popular as faeries, it has quite a strong presence itself. People will get sick, buy off all the cheaper cookies, and the price will likely settle back around where it was in no time at all, I'm sure of it.

Fluctuations like this happen all the time in the real world economy, and I wouldn't expect neopets to be any different. It's not as if there are suddenly an extra 1,000 honey potions, they're just faeries. What we have here is roughly the equivilent of a few thousand easy bake ovens being given out for free nation-wide. And just like the ovens, in a week no one will remember them and all will be fine and well again.

(Yes, I know I can't spell, forgive me)

Wouldn't a more likely thing for neo to do is make the items more rare... so the prices go up again faster? They could do that pretty easily... maybe make everything restock less too.
