I would like to start a gallery, and I need some ides. Will anyone help me?

it all depends on how much are you willing to spend

1-1000nps Omelettes/Jellies/Botteled Sand
1000nps-2000nps Keychains
2000nps-5000nps All the plushies for a certain pet (depends)
5000nps-10000nps Gruel, other cheap food themes.
10000nps-20000nps gifts, advent calender items
20000nps-50000nps Codestones/Faeries
50000nps-100000nps certain type of food (ex. ice cream, frozen, spicy)
100000nps-200000nps things for a certain color
200000nps-500000nps Everything for a certain pet exept full body armour
500000nps-1000000nps A certain theme (ex. Mootix, scary)
1000000nps-2000000nps Neggs
2000000nps-5000000nps Books
5000000nps-10000000nps Paint Brushes
10000000nps+ Faerie Related Items, Petpets
(note: these are just SOME suggestions)

The layout should have something to do with the theme, dont overcrowd (meaning you dont have to scroll down alot to see your first line of items) Try to choose something unique, if your going to type a few lines, try to put it in a flat blog instead. http://www.neoitems.net should help you find the items.

By the way, this topic is in the wrong section of the forum.

watericesage, at one point I made a keychain gallery, and it costs MUCH more than 2,000 neopoints.

I suppose its entirely up to you, choosing something that you find amusing or interesting always help to keep a passion for the gallery! :D

Whatever you choose, make sure you really like the items, too. I made a Court Dancer Gallery during the war. I have tried for the gallery spotlight every since and never gotten it. It cost quite a bit and no gallery spotlight but I have received alot of compliments on it. And I still have it up. So make sure you put together your gallery for the right reasons. Because you like the items and not just to get a spotlight. Odds are, you will have the gallery up for some time.

Is there a particular color you like? Or an item that you adore, a pet that is your favorite, something that makes you laugh, something that could reflect an interest or hobby you have?

I wish a spooky gallery only ran to about 1 million - a rainbow evil fuzzle is close to that! which no, I don't have yet. I've got a list of things I know I'm missing and it's over 2 mil, and that doesn't include the fact that there's 302 items in my gallery. So don't do a spooky theme gallery unless you're going for a specific theme, like furniture or food. And even then that can get really pricy. If I didn't have so much invested and so many things already I would have ditched mine, it'll never be finished.

So my advice? Look for something that there's only so many things related to the theme. Otherwise, you'll end up like alot of us with never completed, uber expensive galleries and a long wish list! ;)

Could do a DoN gallery, though expensive...maybe a gallery based off a game?
I did mine after Cellblock, though it started out as a gallery for my neo "villian".
Species all have had someone do them. Plus, they're insanly expensive thans to the new weapons being r99.

Just try doing a gallery on something you really like and already have a few items for. Just took my General's Sword to get me into making a new gallery.

Gallery Spotlight galleries are usually picked by what the random wednesday theme is...so it can take awhile to win.

You should do a gallery of your absolute favorite thing, otherwise you might tire of it quickly--do you like one particular pet or petpet or faerie? Or maybe you have a favorite color or favorite food? Do you have a real life hobby that could translate into Neopets--ie, are you a music lover, avid reader, game player or gardener? Are you someone who has stars or rainbows everywhere? Are you known for eating cookies by the handful or are you a coffee-aholic? Do you love the ocean (water/aquatic pet collection) or the desert (Lost Desert collection) or the forest (Meridell collection)? Is there one particular holiday you go overboard on--like Halloween or Easter?

Once you figure it out, you can go to Neoitems website so that you can create a list of what you will need to buy. You can also try to find others' galleries to see what you are missing and to get ideas for background, blogs, etc. Just pick an item that would be unique to that particular gallery and do a search with 100,000 as your minimum price.

Some of the most unique galleries I have found use a great background or theme to display their items, have something special written about their collection, and great sound effects. I wish I had written them all down now: a fabulous Lost Desert gallery with a detailed map of the Lost desert as the background and Egyptian music playing; a coffee collection set up as a local Starbuck's; a black/white collection with a grainy black moving background--it looked like something you would see at the beginning of an old B&W movie. I do have the name of one that I think is outstanding: it is a water/aquatic petpet collection that is set up as a "aquatic museum"--crashing waves as sound effects--and defintely worth checking out: crystalbluewaves. Here is the link: http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml ... lbluewaves

I wish. Plushies, even if you are only going for a certain species, can cost millions--check out the price of a mist kougra or swamp lupe neoquest plushie sometime.

I'm just starting a Neoquest II gallery on my main account. It was originally a Mipsy gallery, but since I found other factors of NQII to love as well (Devilpuss, Rohane <3) and it well grew from there.
So I suggest a simple theme like a character from a Neopets game you like, and maybe extend on it.

you can start a random gallery of things you like. lets say you like the way a certain book looks or the way a food looks, you can buy it and put it in a gallery. Sometimes it has benefits because things retire or become quest items and their price goes up. I bought the jubjub cakes because i liked em and now they are worth some K more than when i bought em.

you can take a look at my gallery of fav things :)

Oh, don't stop just because you can't get a couple of items. I think that most of us have galleries that are missing several or more unbuyables.

I have a plushie gallery with about 575 plushies--and still need about 150-200 more before I can say it is complete--ha! Like that would ever happen--because they seem to release 4 plushies a day anymore--because some can't be bought for any price--and because for some of them, the cost is 5 million and up. But, it doesn't stop me from collecting them.

I can't think of a good enough name to call my fish gallery.
