Actually, I just successfully transferred two pets today (my first time doing so). They weren't anything one would call "special" (they are IMO though), just Red and Blue Level 1 Usuls, but they had good names, so I was a little worried someone might pick them up, but no one did thankfully. What I did was transfer a pet from my main account to my spare, and from my spare account to my main. It was rather sad seeing them continually try to keep me from 'putting them in the pound' (Quoth Them: "Oh please noooo!"), but I knew I wasn't really disowning them.
It was actually quite easy as I had two browsers open at the time, and before I put them in I typed their names in the Search box to be ready. One scare, though, was that when I clicked the button to search for my pet, it said "Oops, this pet is not in the pound", and I immediately thought someone got her, but she just hadn't officially been placed in the pound yet (the browser I used took about 20 seconds per click).

I haven't failed, then again my family's two computers are right next to each other so it would be hard to fail. lol :)

Yeah, Speckled Cybunny with decent stats. It had an awesome name.

My friend gave me the cybunny, but I painted him & everything ..

Why didn't you use the autoadopt code?

I've only tried to do it twice, and I have a 50% fail rate...it was a starry chia that I was transferring to a secondary account to make room in my lab account...I tried to do it on my own, I didn't understand how fast the pound was...now I'm too scared to try again.

I've never had an failed transfer - even with my slow modem. :D

However: I'm still really scared of transferring. :P In fact I've been thinking about transferring a lab pet to my normal account [‘cause I’ve grown to love him dearly <3 ], but am hesitant since it's currently a pink Grundo with fairly high stats. I'd have to buy a trans. potion and change him into something undesirable [i.e. a plain coloured Lenny or something] and another to change him back to his normal species before I'd ever submit him to the pound - but that's a lot of trouble.

...Eh. =/

I was helping a friend transfer a pet, but I accidentally clicked the name instead of the picture. Luckily, the person who got her was kind enough to send her back. :) The pet didn't have anything special about her except her name. We both ended up making the guy our neofriend.

Since I've never attempted to transfer a pet (no need), I haven't lost any pets...yet.

I've failed twice. The first time, it was because an error prevented me from abandoning my pound pet so I missed the pet when it transfered.

THe second time, it was a Darigan Meerca, and well, once again it was the problem of max. four pets. :( I honestly don't really care about either of them, since they were both addoprtion projects that I decided to keep. :>
