Um...what makes spiders "filthier" than any other animal?
No matter how many millions of people have arachnophobia, it never ceases to offend me.

I have severe Arachnophobia and didn't really know why until not too long ago. I can understand how they can be seen as beautiful. But I figured out that I'm afraid of spiders because of the way they move. I honestly can't stand to look at them, as it creeps me out. Other animals, like crabs, that move in a similar way also scare me, but not nearly as much as spiders do. Probably because spiders are tiny and move so very fast.
The word "phobia" means irrational fear, so yeah, spiders aren't really something to logically fear. -shrug-
Anyway. Cartoon spiders don't scare me, and I did rather like the spider pet TNT had for April Fool's Day in 2005.
I definitely wish they had more scary/mean-looking pets. :/
I also love the octopus/squid idea.
