Why must all good things end? Why?
I suppose I'll just have to go back to Freewebs or 250free.

EDIT: 250free doesn't allow hotlinking. *grumbles*
OK, where in the name of Joseph Anza does it say that 250free doesn't allow it? I run 250free and I'm fine. (Of course, I'm a older account.)
*shrug* That's what Zero said, and she knows more about this stuff than I do.

Ya, I uploaded a background to 250free and when I put it on my userlookup and went to see it, it showed a sign dealie that said it didn't allow hotlinking. And my 250free account is like a year old. That, and even if it did, you gotta consider the people outside of North America who can't see pictures from it.

It's in beta testing, and is only available to those with Paid Accounts, Permanent Accounts, and Early Adopter Accounts.
...I only know because it's asked about 20 times a day in LJ support and I volunteer there, I swear!

I have found a solution. You know how there's an option to create new albums in your account? Just make a new one, and your free space starts all new in that album. For example, I created a new album recently, uploaded 18 pictures, and then I checked my album size-
Album size 0.18 Mb ( 0.7% )
It didn't combine with the free space I used in my main album.

Your right...
Its strange, it's like every folder is another 25mb...
Either thats how its suppost to be, or it's a glitch.

No.
If you check the album sizes individually, they'll only tell you the size of that particular album.
If you go back to your main account and check, it'll include all the albums in the album size.

I was outraged for about five minutes, till I realized that you'd still have your account if you didn't upgrade to premium - it would be stupid to have only premium.
Then the 25 MB thing outraged me again

Hopefully I don't get attacked for this somewhat non-related post, but here goes:
Since you all are discussing image hosting sites, I thought I'd ask which you think is best. I've been using photobucket for a while, but I don't like what it does to my images when I upload them. When I upload, I lose a lot of quality in my images. I was wondering if there's another (free) site that works better. Any suggestions?

Also, Photobucket shouldn't be decreasing the quality of your images unless they're very large filesizes. This is always the case with bmp images (default filetype in Microsoft Paint). It can also be the case with very large gif images and very large images, as well as very large png images. I've yet to find a jpg image that's so large that it's quality would be decreased once uploaded to photobucket.

*Ticked off*
My images won't load for me now when I try to go into my album, and I found a signature I particularly liked, and now it has a big black band running through it!
Is this just me? Or do I have permission to murder Photobucket? I'm seriously not upset anymore about the space and stuff, but it's the black bands I don't like.
EDIT: Apparently it's everyone, considering all things from Photobucket are coming up as X's now.

I had an ad for that.. But still, 25mb, isn't that little, and it's a pretty good host. There is another free host site,
http://www.imageshack.us/, but I'm not sure how much space it allowes you to have..
On photobucket I have used:
Album size 3.05 Mb ( 12.2% )
Not that much considering I have 80 pictures...

I just sucked it up and got a paid account, honestly I couldn't be happier. For a year, it's not bad at all, and Photobucket has never let me down. I mean, honestly, for a free service, they've been pretty good.
