I think the key part is this: "Our goal is to have the plot ready to start back up within the coming months."
Months plural means May at the earliest. But assuming they're going to run the AC again (on time in June?), I suspect we're looking at late summer (late July or August) at the earliest. That's what I'm going to assume, and I guess I'll be happily surprised if it happens earlier.
Time to set a new training goal, I guess. And start using quest cookies again. Can I make it to 2k HP before the plot resumes?
I've been chugging along towards my next training goal (as I hit the one I wanted to before the plot restarted over a month ago, having worked hard to complete it ASAP in case things started back up in February), but I would actually prefer that we don't have to wait long enough for me to get there before it starts back up. I had kinda hoped this goal would be a "before the plot ends" type goal, not a "before it starts back up again."
I strongly disliked the fact that the Altador Cup ran as late as it did last year (having a huge chunk of it being in the standard school year), as it was realllly inconvenient on a number of levels, and I'd really prefer the plot to be done well before then again, too. Hopefully they'll pick up the pace of the story line so that it still finishes "on time" (whatever that finish date originally was - the FAQ said "Some seers have predicted it will end around a year later 2025, but no one really knows for certain!" which would be around June 17th, 2025). I'd far rather have things busy on Neo in June/July when we have less activities going on (as most activities line up with the school schedule) than once everything is back in the swing of things, because then the plot just becomes ONE MORE THING to try to cram in. Okay, also, I kinda want to just get a move on with the story. I hate sitting and waiting on cliffhanger type situations and it's been at least as long as than an old-school summer cliffhanger time frame for Star Trek TNG/DS9/VOY or something along those lines, if not longer!
If they do delay this until May (or later), what does that do to Festival of Neggs and Altador Cup? Will they also be delayed? Or cancelled? (They'd better not cancel my Negg Fest! Need. More. Neggs!) (I wouldn't cry if they cancelled Altador Cup. Truly.)
Sorry if I'm grumpy. Real life has been really difficult lately and I was actually looking forward to the plot coming back.
I got the last Voidworks prize I needed yesterday! I'm still doing it daily because it's fun.
And I'm down to only eleventen missing campfire prizes -- only one from the hard prize pool, and the rest from the easy/medium pool (plus the elusive pumpkin stick, available in either).
I'll keep playing on hard until I get that candy corn latte, and then I'll decide whether I'd like to increase my chances of getting the others or keep trying for extra stamps (not sure if JN's prices are accurate).
Only two of them (Marshmallows On A Stick and Gigantic Bonfire) are gallery items, and I know I could probably buy all of them for less than a few thousand NP, but I like the challenge of coming across them in the wild (money tree or from the game).
By the way, still haven't done a Tavi's quest since I got her last prize. And have no plans to do one ever again, unless needed again for the plot or new prizes are discovered.
Soooooo TNT Aesop was on the stream for the TCG today and it was mentioned that the plot would be resuming "In a few months I can't say exactly when quite yet but it'll be kicking back off soon."
My guess: June for Altador Cup whatever it is, July for the Varwolf mini-event, August for TVW to finally return.
Maybe. If we're lucky. Ugh. At this rate, I'll hit the training goal I wanted to hit before the plot ended before it even restarts. I'm already more than 3/5s of the way there...from the goal I had to get to before the plot restarted.
Woohoo! I finally got one of the handful of items I still need from the campfire. I only need Candy Corn Latte, Greyed Expectations, Marshmallows On A Stick, Negg of Everlasting Fire (which might not be available anymore -- there's an inflation notice), and that pesky Pumpkin Stick. I know I could grab the first couple for just couch cushion change, but I'm really trying to get them all by chance (through the game or money tree).
I haven't even looked at the tea quests in forever. I still do voidworks most days, even though I have all those prizes, just because it's fun.
And my pet is at 1650+ HP, so quite a bit higher than my goal of 1500 before the plot ends. Maybe I can hit 2k before it ends? But I hope it doesn't last that long...
I just splurged and redeemed points for Thunder Sticks and Grapes of Wrath. Nice little addition to my battle pet set. Don't regret the purchase at the moment, but might later if short points for something...
Kew codestones have jumped ~10k NP in price in just the past few weeks. At the same time, there are suddenly two shops with 600+ and 1000+ Kews in stock. I reported one (admitting that this could be legitimate activity, but hopefully they can investigate and determine either way).
Guess who's had two different trainings requesting four Kews each in the past three days?
I have money in the bank, but I try to never withdraw, so I should be able to finish the current training after dailies tomorrow. And then fingers crossed I get no more Kew requests for a while (I have all the other reds in stock, in part thanks to Blue's generosity). I'm not really in a hurry to train.
Posted: Mon Jun 02, 2025 8:11 am I have no idea why codestones have jumped so much in the last 2-3 weeks, but it's getting insane. We could definitely use the plot restarting and those extra drops.
Kews and Vuxes are both over 40k, Zeds are over 50k. Cuis are at about 25k, while Shos and Mags are both still under 20k (but not around 10k like they used to be). Prices are getting seriously ouchies and the premium dome is hardly dropping any. (I'm getting 1-3 a WEEK). Needless to say, my supply is out and I'm having to pay for each training. I have money in the bank for it, but...it still makes me wince when the prices have more than doubled.
I'm only about 130 HPs away from my next goal, so I'm not slowing down much. I might cancel any trainings that have only Kew/Vux/Zeds, though...we'll see. That 24-hour cooldown slows things a lot. Kitchen quests are definitely worth it right now!
ETA: There was a massive update to the FAQ sometime in the last day or so.
How long does the plot last? July 28, 2025 The second Episode of the Void Within plot begins on Aug 4th 2025, and is expected to run until the end of September!
How often will new content be released? July 28, 2025 Comics will always be released in batches on Mondays, along with dialogue and other content, but dialogue to introduce activities such as games and Battledome encounters may also be released during other days of the week! Since many Neopians live busy lives, you won’t be penalized for not visiting every single day new content is released.
Content will be released in the form of Chapters spread over two-week periods, during which everyone can still catch up on content and collect full rewards! It’s only after each chapter ends that you will lose out on exclusive prizes. So you’ll want to make sure you are all caught up on the last day of every chapter!
What is this bar on the HUB page? July 28, 2025 This bar keeps track how many plot points you’ve accumulated for the current chapter.
Why is there a plot points bar? July 28, 2025 During Episode 1, we received a lot of feedback from Neopians saying the daily cap per activity was too demanding. Now with the plot points bar, you can accumulate plot points at your own pace through any activity you prefer.
Does this mean plot activities don’t have a daily cap anymore? July 28, 2025 Plot activities, aside from Void Essence collection, no longer have a daily cap. You can participate in whichever plot activities you want, however often you want, to earn plot points until the chapter bar is filled.
How many plot points can I earn? July 28, 2025 You can earn up to 3,000 plot points per chapter.
Do plot points from all activities count towards the plot points bar? July 28, 2025 Most of them do, but a few of them don’t. Plot points earned from Void Essence collection (including the weekly collection prize and community goals) and Fearless Deeds do not count towards the plot point bar being filled.
What happens after I max out my plot points? July 28, 2025 You will not earn any more plot points from the related plot activities until the next chapter starts.
Does this apply to all chapters? July 28, 2025 Yes, all chapters will have a plot points bar which means they will all have a maximum amount of plot points you can earn per chapter. The only exception is the epilogue since plot activities will have ended by that point.
Does the Plot Points Fortune Cookie double the amount I can earn from the plot points bar? July 28, 2025 No, the Plot Points Fortune Cookie only doubles the amount of plot points earned. It does not double the max amount you can earn from the plot points bar.
In short: Episode 2 looks like it will be about 2 months long with probably 4 chapters that are 2 weeks long each. There will be a maximum of 3,000 points you can earn per chapter, but that excludes Void Essence collection (including the weekly collection prize and community goals) and Fearless Deeds. You still have to complete the special steps of each chapter within the chapter time frame to get the special prizes they award.
Given that we have completed 7 chapters of the currently 22 listed, this means we have 15 chapters left (assuming Chapter 22 is not the epilogue). This means that there must be an Episode 3 if they're going to keep all of the chapters as they were previously planned out.
Some math here: We were earning 475 points per day (or more if you used the extra 100 glitch with hospital shifts). 425 of that was not essences. With a cap of 3,000 of these points per chapter, at that cap, it'll be about half as many points as we could earn previously (14 days x 425 = 5950). This means it will take significantly less effort to cap out - so if you want to do battling only instead of hospital shifts or vice versa, you will easily be able to do so. Assuming essences continue as they were (50 points per day, 20 point bonus once a week), that will be 370 points per week, or 740 per chapter. There were also 1 point bonuses for reading chapters (don't know if these will still be around and if so, if they'll count towards the 3k max per chapter), and achievement bonuses (which don't count towards the 3k). So at 3740 per chapter (every 2 weeks) x 15 weeks, there are a possible of 56,100 points still left to go, plus whatever additional achievement points are awarded. If Chapter 22 is the epilogue and has no points, that's still a possible 52,360.
