So much to catch up on. I will try to find the time soon to get the main posts updated. Not sure when, as we're hitting end-of-school-year activities and things are crazy, but...
--------------Fighting Drakara----------------- So there are a few strategies out there for beating Drakara. Most rely on a couple specific weapons (some are expensive) and having enough HP. The short of it is, if you have less than 1500 HP, it's going to be rough. Even at 1500HP, it requires a lot of luck with the stealing early on. There are a few outliers who have managed to beat her with sub 1k HPs, but it is not common.
For sure, you need: Explorers Whip (the only working stealer in 1P - a previous plot prize, but only has a 5% steal rate, BUT can multi-steal) Some sort of 100% Freezer Probably a 100% Blocker (T-Tear, Thick Smoke Bomb, that sort - to give you an extra free round to try to steal) Some sort of 100% Healer (LEV, Jade SS, Obsidian SS, or one-shots, which the hospital has plenty of right now) Some sort of reasonable weapon. (Grapes, WoDF, etc - not used much but helpful at the start) Illusens Staff (probably have it from Faerie Festivals of past) Snowagers Pendant (Is in the HT, but is expensive) You'll also need Lens Flare & Warlock's Rage set as abilities. Rejuvenate & Reflect are both nice additions.
For most people, I would suggest something like this: Round 1: Lens flare + whip + weapon Round 2: Warlock's Rage + whip + T-sticks (or 100% freezer) Round 3: Icicle + whip + weapon Round 4: T-Tear + whip + Static Cling
Hope you stole her wand in there. (To check to see what you stole, just refresh the page and it'll show you under your weapons.) Static Cling + I-staff + whip if not and hope you survive long enough to steal her wand. Use healing as needed. Remember that rejuvenate only works if you take damage, and only does a full heal if you're over 5%.
Once you've gotten her Wand stolen, move to I-staff + Snowager Pendant + Static Cling, and if you have over 1351 HP, you WILL NOT DIE. Illusens Staff will heal you enough every time as you chip down at her HP. Huge note here: If you have NOT stolen her bowl, do NOT use Icicle, or it'll get reflected back at you with the bowl. If you have the bowl, switch Static Cling to Icicle.
Stealing the Wand is the 100% key. Not only does it pack a punch, but it can also freeze you multiple times....AND for multiple rounds in a row. Like, she can freeze you one round, NOT use the wand the next one and you're still frozen. It's NASTY. (Also I'm glad someone finally tested this and confirmed it because I was starting to think I was going crazy having it happen to me.) But the worst is this: The wand heals her back up to 10% of her HP every time she uses it and she's under. So...on "easy", she'll keep resetting to 5k HP. Yes, you could get lucky and she won't use it enough rounds in a row that you can take her out, BUT let's be real...the chances of that are less than you stealing it to begin with.
Seriously Consider This: Some of her weapons are drops, BUT they're extremely rare. The wand is a drop but it appears to be even more rare than the robe or amulet. I have beaten her almost 100 times now and picked up a whopping 2 amulets and a robe, which at current prices does not pay for my investment in the Snowager Pendant at all (that I ended up not needing in the long run, but that's beside the point). Most of what you get from her will be the junk crystal and book. The RNG luck required to win anything worthwhile is stupid. And the amount of time it takes to beat her even just once is ridiculous. Please keep this in mind before you consider tackling her and especially before you invest in any weapons. -----------------------------------
My opinion on the fight: TNT really dropped the ball here. They made her stupid hard, which is awesome, and the first day she was out, I was really excited about this. BUT they should've chosen EITHER bad odds on the wand drop OR serious time commitment - not both. Especially since this is a limited event and there's a limited number of 'tries' you get per day based on the total number of item drops there are. (If you're wondering why there's so many more wins on Drakara vs the Amph, it's because people are intentionally withdrawing from the Amph battles to avoid getting item drops from the Amph so they have more shots at Drakara's drops). Even if they'd put in a pity system, where you get the wand if you beat her like, 50 or 100 or 150 times or something stupid high, it would've been better. The odds are I will fight her who knows how many times and have wasted the time entirely. WHY is it so hard for them to just set a tough goal to work towards that is geared at only crazy serious battlers!?
I have also heard rumors that nothing else is being added to the prize shop at this point, which I'm also disappointed with. Where are the high-prize-point items?! Or the exclusive expensive weapons? Are they seriously only going to be released via RNG? Because if so...yeah, really bad choice here. At the rate we're going, this plot is going to end just as disappointing (to me) as it's been most of the time it's been going. Sigh.
