My Chris - I just had to share cause this is so cool

Chris was my best friend from high school. We lost touch about 10 years ago and someone told me about 2 weeks ago that he is dead (long story). I decided then I had to hunt him down and tell him that I love him and always have. I felt like I had lost that opportunity once I heard that he was dead. I had to be sure he wasn't. Well, I hunted him down and he is in Virginia in the Navy. He JAG (yes like the show) which is really cool. Even more cool is that we come from this little po dunk town in Texas and he has become so successful. I was calling him on Monday and Tues and couldn't get ahold of him. I finally got the receptionist to give me his email addy and he emailed me back yesterday. He was deployed for 6 months and just got back. Here is what he said :

Sorry I am hard to reach right now...I just returned from a six-month deployment a few weeks ago and have moved right into defending a contested general court-martial. My life is (other word for heck) at the moment.

So I emailed him back and my stepmom told me to ask him if he is married. She is trying to get us together.

Anyways...that sounds like one of those stories you hear on lifetime

well the cool thing is that my parents know him and his parents know me. His parents moved up here to Tulsa the summer we did. We would hang out when he would come into town for his college vacations. During the summer he stayed in Longview and worked for his Grandma. I am glad I got a response but it is looking like he is too busy to respond to me again. I am crossing my fingers but it isn't quite the time he responded to me yesterday.

Sounds like the plotline for a romantic movie

So he isnt dead? But getting court marshelled isnt exactly going to be helpful in meeting him.

Yeah, it could be like in Cadet Kelly, because Kelly is sentenced to equipment managar for the drill team.

Doesn't it feel kinda forced though, seems kinda fast for someone you just met again after not seeing them for about ten years. Maybe you should let a friendship kinda sink in first...but thats just my opinion.

I took it as saying he is defending a court marshall literally as he would be the defendant but right-o.

So do I! Of course there are five states surrounding VA..
