I daydream. Watch tv or read a book then change what is happening into what I want to see in my head...then write it down. Instant ideas. Neopets ideas are best found in game play, I have found.

I've tried that, but I don't have a sense of inspiration anywhere... this is a magnificent story, but part 4 of 9 isn't coming along very well...

Just don't force it. Don't go sitting around thinking 'I HAVE to write, I HAVE to write...'. That'll only make it worse. Take a walk, walk the dog, do the dishes, read a book, relax. Once the pressure is off the kettle, try again. Make sure you're writing for fun, for yourself, and not because you HAVE to.

Good luck!

The truth is, I haven't written anything for a MONTH. I barely feel stressed out, and my mind is still blank.

If I can't get to sleep, I dream about a part of my story. That normally helps me. :)

Like I said, I have NO inspiration to dream about. I do get ideas from dreams once. I had this really weird one about Sports Day at my School and the Elemental Faeries. o.o It was a good one.

Hm...wow. I normally don't have that bad of writers block. Hm...maybe you could sit outside, maybe look at different magazines for inspiration? Like...seed ideas. That how my schoolwork program wanted me to write my stories and create my characters.

You think that's bad? Try two years. That's when I stopped working on my novel, and I still haven't been able to either get back to it, or work seriously on anything else. :(

What kind of piece is it? You could try imersing yourself in the atmosphere of the writing.

Like if it is fantasy along the lines of knights in shining armor try going to a midevil fair or watching something about King Arthur. You probably shouldn't go looking for the inspiration when you do that, but just let yourself fall into the culture and fall in love with the subject again.

I know the whole falling in love thing was vague, but I find that the best pieces are always written about something the writer cares about.

If you made up the world that the story is set in, you could try drawing your favorite character from it just to better invision it.

Just try a variety of things! You'll find that thing that made you want to write the story in the first place.

I'm finally back for the summer, although hopefully I'll spend a little more time away from this screen.

Don't push it. Like the others said, writting should be for fun, not because you HAVE to. You might try writting something completely different to get your mind off of it.

You might have lost your inspiration because you have lost interest in the story, have come to a dead-end in the plot, or fallen into a plot-hole. Sometimes, you just can't write along that story any more, I find that I always loose inspiration half-way through, but writing a new story helps get it back, and after a while you can go back to the old story.

Hmm, I've got a bit of a tip. I usually find ideas for stories from videogames and anime, especially anime. Just keep watching and playing, and when you find something cool, think of how you can have something similar. That's what I do anyhow.

Well, the weirdest thing happened earlier; I was playing a video game and I was thinking about this role playing thing I do with Adventures in Neopia and then I had this weirdest idea. :P So yeah.
It's also a fantasy set in the skies of Neopia.
