Im going to stay up late tonight and watch the sidebar change (which im sure it will do at midnight nst) and try to RS some of the birthday goodies...well...if they are released into the system of course.

Im already uber festive because of Thanksgiving and Christmas. This makes me feel as if Ive OD-ed on Mt Dew and Twinkies

For some reason, I'm always thinking a year ahead. I thought this was the Fifth year, and tomorrow was the sixth year. Don't worry, later on in the year I'll go back to thinking that tomorrow is the sixth year, and the year after is the seventh year...

And because of that, I keep confusing myself of when I first joined. And since I self-froze the account, I can't go look up the shield.

because 0-12 months counts as the first year, so tomorrow will be the beginning of the 6th year

Ah, I hate to be the wet blanket, but I remember last year at exactly this same time. That was the day when Neo went down all day and for a few days thereafter--couldn't even celebrate the birthday--and then when it came back up on the 17th, the TP was glitched to the max.

"Gee, Morningstar, you have such a good memory?" Not really. I just remember this so well because my daughter's birthday is on the 18th--and I was all ready to give her a birthday present via the TP. Someone here on PPT had a birthday on the 17th and people were sending her presents but all were stuck (and then lost) on the TP. If it hadn't been for me reading those posts, I too would have lost more than I did (I lost about 200K because of stuff I had put on the TP prior to the 17th). And for any newcomers, anything that was sitting on the TP at the time was lost forever--due to a major meltdown--that Neopets promised would never, ever happen again.

It was a very sad time for Neo--and for fellow PPTers. Some people losts millions--I remember SirHatter stating that a friend had lost something like 49 million. And it made my 200K seem like nothing after I read that.

I hope tomorrow is a better day. But, I have suffered another of those "wonderful" lost item glitches today--when a random event killed my quickstock and I lost the three items I was putting into my SDB (18K in total). Have to wonder if the increase in random events is due to the birthday bash.

Cynical, you betcha, yet still addicted to the game.

Yes, that's exactly right. It works the same with people. I've been alive for 18 years and 9 months, hence I'm 18 years old, but I'm currently in my 19th year of life. And, since I've only been alive more than 18 but less than 19 years, I have only had 18 birthdays. On Jan 21st I will celebrate my 19th birthday and enter the 20th year of my life. Make more sense now?
