However I've been assuming that the puzzle is the Guildmaster's dinner (we were never led to believe that this would be like the Mystery Island or Ursurper-like puzzle, it was just assumed). If it was gradual updating like the Gadsgabogen puzzle, an outage wouldn't be needed to add clues in my opinion.

Yeah, I was too lazy to type Guildsmaster Dinner, sorry.
I'm talking two sided today. I was saying the opposite stuff on IDB, that I'm saying here. >_< Must be because I'm gemini. -.-

Yeah, they shouldn't need to kill the site to add clues, they got that Grundo on there with no DFM. I think it's cause of all the refreshing yesterday. Since RE's were so easy to get, I bet many refreshed a lot.

Maybe it's down cause the people who usually fixes it is late for worka nd they're getting another to fix it?

EDIT: Nessie...it's been down for 6 or so hours now. Welcome to PPT, by the way. :)

It seems to me that bandwidth usage was probably a big issue yesterday, as someone's previously stated. With random events as common as they were, people were putting rocks, D-cell batteries, even -eggs- on their F5 buttons and going to watch a movie. There are some browsers that even have an auto-refresh option on them that people have left going all night. One thing that I don't understand, though, is why bandwidth usage would suddenly cause the site to go DFM early in the morning today, as opposed to late at night last night.

there's someone in the neopets office now (i just got 2 emails from darcy in TNT), so hopefully it'll be back up again soon...

I would love to talk to someone like that! Lol! Maybe directly talking with one would get me my sprint_boy account back...given it's been two years...

But I do not believe it was the refreshing. TNT Would have thought that out and that is the only reason why they allowed more RE's, because they had prepared for it.

I think it is something else. I know on IDB we have images of two War opponients. It is possible this is something to do with the plot right now and Neopets wants to do it without a million people on at once.

What would this browser be? I do like refreshing for periods of time sometimes in hopes of just getting something, and with DSL it doesn't work for me anymore, so would this work for DSL folk?

I'd rather not say, as it'd be encouraging people to 'cheat.' Neopets considers use of this browser function to be in violation of their terms of use. Using it will inevitably get you frozen for utilizing a 'cheat or cheat program.'[/quote]

Hi all. I'm new to PPT and to NeoPets.

Just my luck that the site is down today. Yesterday I had to clean my house because my Father-In-Law is coming to stay with us for a week, so I missed out on all the awesome REs that a lot of players were reporting.

Also the free courses at the Swashbuckling Academy! I did manage to log in last night an hour before midnight NST. So at least I got one free course for two of my pets.

And today I have nothing to do but twiddle my thumbs... and read Neopet Fan sites! Which is a positive aspect of that evil red pteri!

They obviously did not take the site down on purpose (to add clues or whatever) because that would be really silly. Imagine giving us all cool birthday stuff like half price WoE and 5 game plays a day and then deliberately taking the site down. That would be the same as giving us nothing.

Although really I must just complain about something here - just for the record. I live in South Africa - which is 10 hours ahead of NST. So if I go to bed at 10 pm (which is midday in Neopia) and the free WoE is only posted after than then I don't know about it till I log on at 7 the next morning which means I only have 3 hours to take advantage of the free WoE (which is two spins) which is really annoying. Yes I should just be grateful for whatever I get given but I just feel that it would be a lot more fair to people in other time zones if it was from 12 to 12 NST then its likely that almost everyone would spend the same amount of hours sleeping and no one would have an advantage unless they deliberately stayed awake in which case I say good for you.

Its like all that rubbish about the news being released at different times to make it fair for people in time zones other than the US. Anything after midday (or even before that if you are Australian) is not fair and it almost is always after midday. o_O

Ah...I didn't even think about that one. Yes, I suppose that would get me frozen or anyone else who uses that. Not that cheating would be my intent. Thanks.

I have done some research!

Using an autorefresher or using something to hold down the f5 key WILL get you frozen as it is against the rules.

I know tnt could be stupid sometimes, but they wouldn't make a silly spelling mistake like that. Whoever wrote that is most likly making it up.

I hope they DO freeze all those people that did it.

I should be shocked about how many people are so greedy, but unfortunately, that's what motivates most of the users on Neo. Greed.
