It's truly amazing what some people do these days to get on T.V. and win $$$. From eating bugs to jumping out of a plane to getting a make-over!! I just can't believe this stuff that they do. It just seems as if it's getting crazier all the time.

And that 'The Real Gilligan's Island' reality show starts up next week. What's next 'The Real Leave It To Beaver?' (Of course, I'm gonna check out that Gilligan's Island one...heh.)

Much thanks to Scholastic for the set! And Pimboli for the button! ^-^

I really hate Fear Factor. Dying from eating live scorpions is NOT worth the hundred bucks. (I'm exaggerating here, but I'm certain someone got seriously ill eating the fermented squid guts.)

MAD magazine did a good piece on The Swan... can't find it though.

The only kind I like hasn't been made yet... people are assigned various roles from various books (Imrahil anyone?), given orders only to wear a certain selection of clothes which pertain to that character (Helms for all!), and they have to speak only in quotes by that character for two months. AND their family can't be told about it, it has to be a complete secret between the show and the participants. (Uh... dear... I think Johnny's gone mad.)

And the prize is advertized as "100 grand". But it's a 100 Grand chocolate bar. Muahahahadern.

I have this theory, that if the people that wrote some of the earliest television programs in the 1950s were brought forward in time to the present and shown an episode of Fear Factor (or any other equally stupid reality show, though I really believe eating bugs and the like is as low as it gets) they'd be utterly shocked and horrified that in just 60 short years television could sink so low. (Talk about a run-on sentance @_@)

I miss sitcoms =(

I have no problem with reality shows.
Yes, they're stupid, but its entertaining.

The only thing I have against Fear Factor is the fact that they kill animals for it... Im not talking about bugs... Its about the rats, cows, pigs.... I know people eat meat, but killing a goat so someone can eat its eyeballs on tv is sick.

I don't really like reality tv programmes. They're just getting more desperate and ridiculous. Very silly and stupid. All they care about really is getting high ratings. -_-

I don't like reality shows, either. It's just like...erm, this:

Host: Whoa, Joey, how did you eat all those poisonous african insects!?
Joey: Well, you see, I'm a complete moron who needs some quick cash. And there's also the fact that I'm on tv! Rock on, dudes!
Host: Joey, it seems that you have a critical poisoning! Take him to the hospital, men!
Joey: Whoa, they're taking me to the hospital on live tv!! Awesome!
Me(watching): What is this piece of crap? Let's see what's on the other channels...

Meh.

Hehe, so true. *nods* Unfortunately at the moment, I'm probably going to be suffocated by coverage of I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here, which is so incredibly awful. I don't see any "celebrities" on it either. Bah, the term "celebrity" is useless now, especially if Rebecca Loos or someone like that is considered one. -_-

Yeah! I know. :(

I don't think the bugs part is nice either. They are all alive!

Also, I'm not fond of their boobie shots.

What ever happened to
Sitcoms
Games Shows
On the radio was--never mind.

I miss sitcoms too. A Different World, Sgt. Dad, Mama's Family, Roseanne...I actually catch some old Carsey-Werner stuff on my Fox. I think A Different World would do well on TV.

I'm sick of reality TV. I only watch a handful of reality shows. And I barely even watch THEM now.

Sitcoms are all around us. There is like a new one coming out every two months or so. It's ridiculous how many they're now. Here are the ones I can name at the top of my head which are running:

Friends
Seinfield
Listen Up!
Still Standing
Reba
According To Jim
Yes, Dear
Joey
The Drew Carey Show
Home Improvement
etc...

They're a lot of sitcoms. However, the new ones aren't as funny as the old ones like "Friends" except for "Reba" and "Joey".

They aren't really classics though. *shrug* I don't know.
