My family opens presents on Christmas Eve because, well, we want to and a family friend spends Christmas Eve with us and Christmas Day with her relatives who recently moved closer to her.

We open our presents (Mother, Father & I) on Christmas Eve because we like to focus Christmas Day on my younger sister.

Eo, we do it because my mum is Hungarian and it's a Hungarian custom. That she decided to implement when my brother wouldn't sleep on Christmas Eve.

Opening them on the 25th is really a modern thing, here in Europe most tradition involve opening the Christmas gifts on the 24th. In Belgium the children get their gifts on December 6th, and those who belong to the Greek Orthodox Church celebrate Christmas on January 7th, though some have converted into the modern age and open then on the 25th.
So basically I don't get why people call any day crazy for opening their presents, if they get any, it's all about the traditions

Yeah, you don't really get your presents before anyone else, you still have to wait 364 days.

When I was little, my siblings and I would get our presents from relatives on Christmas Eve, and our presents from Santa on Christmas Day. But now that we're all adults, we get nothing from Santa =O so we get everything on Christmas Eve. My niece and nephew still get presents from Santa on Christmas Day though.

I got Viewtiful Joe (Beat it, now playing as Dante), Jak III, a subscription to Gamefly, my first game being Megaman X: Command Mission (gotta beat that and send it back. Next game is Metroid Prime 2), and I also got Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Enough with the games, the other big presents I got were a DVD burner and a 120 gig HD. Oh, and before anyone says how lucky I am, half of these are my twin brothers, I just use them, and GTA:SA belongs to my little brother, but I still play it. Besides, there's one thing I wanted for christmas and didn't get: My account back. Oh well, back to pestering TNT.
