Alright. We just got a new computer, a PC with Windows XP. I got an iPod for Xmas, and I put all my music on it using our old computer. Well, I tried to install the software for it on the new computer. It "didn't install properly." So now I can't import CDs onto iTunes, the program the Ipod uses, and I'm going to bet that I can't import songs onto my Ipod, even though I haven't tried to yet. And furthermore, it erased ALL the music on the ipod. 400+ songs!!! So anyway, if anyone has some suggestions/comments/whatever, or their own windows horror stories, please share!

Well, it crashed once, that's about it :P Haha. My Windows is fairly stable, haven't got anything I specifically can blame it on, but rather stupid applications :)
But I kinda remember a time I used Windows 95/98... oh the horror. Returned to it the other day, to play some old DOS games. Bleh, just like the old days, nice mysterious crashes :D

You know, it's actually a problem with the software you're installing, not windows. Or maybe you don't have admin privileges.

XP is actually pretty stable -- I can't remember the last time it crashed.

Yeah man it has to be the way your installing it, last time I knew Ipod worked perfectly fine with Windows, if it didn't well lets say Ipods problly wouldn't be out.

The software worked fine on our other computer, with windows 2000. We have service pack 2 and my dad says that might be the problem. I tried downloading iTunes off the Apple site. It gave me the same error. And I had a question on this. But I forgot. I'll get back to it.
