Demortayse sighed and said, "I have no idea. I asked the staff at the local Interface headquarters to look into it as I had to warn you guys. He was in pretty bad condition when I saw him though. And, yes, Sungiver...it is kind of ironic. Long time no see... I have no idea why they decided to go through all that trouble to assassinate us in the real world. Maybe, they're just psychotic or possibly just bored with their lives. Well, I did find out that Mesmer saw something he shouldn't have on Interface. They think he might have told one of his friends but I doubt it. Hopefully they won't be able to target any of us. They followed me home...as for Mesmer...he was their initial target."

He sighed and paused to consider if there had been anything suspicious Mesmer had talked about.

He thought, "Hmmm...there was that mysterious haughty angel he'd met once...and...that virus..."

[Well, figuring nobody could really commit "murder" or anything on Interface, the most serious thing was a virus...which could destroy Interface's reputation for safe gameplay so a cover up...]

Lin's ears perked. "Virus? What virus?" the fox said. He bit his bottom lip, thinking. "I should go. The tech staff and i will immidiatly get on this problem." Then, with a glance at the powerful level two shaman, he shimmered, and log off the Interface.

Kyma looked at Mesmer. This is intense, she thought. Her body shook, and an image filled her head, but dissapeared to quick for her to make it out. She collapsed, a surge of power corsing through her veins.

Leone bit her lip, which looked rather weird considering she was a dragon, then nodded her head in resolution. "I'm going to log out and go to find a safe link, I'll be back on soon."

Leone logged out, and opened her eyes in time to see a man standing over her with a knife. Her eyes widening in surprise, she grabbed the knife out of his hands, something he wasn't expecting her to do. She then jumped up, and faced him, the knife point out in defence. The man quickly came to his senses, scowling, he drew out a gun and pointed it at her. Leone took a chance and ran towards a window behind her. Throwing the knife, to hopefully distract the man, she smashed through her living room window. Throwing her arms out, she managed to hit the cloth that shaded the cafe at the bottom of her apartment complex. People screamed as she plummeted through the fabric.

Wincing as she got up, Leone ran into a taxi that had stopped to see what was going on. People were still staring at her, but all she needed to do was get to the Interface centre. After a 10 minute drive that felt like hours, Leone arrived at the centre. Running in, many support staff looked at her, startled expressions on their faces. "I've just been attacked at my appartment, I'm Sungiver the Appraiser and I need access to a safe link." The people nodded, leading her to a room quickly.

Leone opened her eyes, and found herself standing where she had logged off from. She slumped to the ground in relief, looking at Demortayse with a confused expression. "When I opened my eyes after logging out the first thing I saw was a man standing over me with a knife... he was about to kill me." She shuddered, a long chill racing down her spine. "As it was I had to jump out of my fourth storey window to avoid being shot. What has this world come to? To fight over something heard in a virtual reality game..."

[Well back to Agrioth for now ... I surrender control of Demortayse]

Agrioth was very confused. A murder in the real world because of something that happened on Interface? What was wrong with this world? Well, she would have to look into Mesmer's friends list and warn the other characters. She just hoped she'd be in time. Suddenly, behind her, Mesmer came to with a groan. She turned and was relieved to see he was now showing up steadily instead of flickering.

[and now back to Mesmer... :)]

Mesmer woke up feeling an almost giddy relief from the nagging pain he had fallen unconscious with. He stared at all the concerned faces and wondered.

Turning to some character next to him, he asked, "Who are you people? Where am I?"

Then, suddenly, something rushed back. There were Sungiver and Demortayse, the only two people he'd ever put on the friends list.

[Eh...too many rescues would become annoying, right?]

Everything else was a blur. The last thing he remembered was one of the characters with her sword at his neck.

He turned to that person and said, "You tried to kill me. But this wasn't the place. Where am I?"

[Well, this will let us continue our quest for the sorceress...sorta-ish]

Leone turned to look at Mesmer relief flooded her eyes. She flew over to him swiftly, "Thank goodness you're alright. Some crazy things have been happening, someone attacked you. But a mod brought Demortayse to save you. Then I got attacked...." She looked down sadly, trying not to remember all that had happened when she logged out.

When she looked back up again she smiled, "At least now we don't have to go on our quest.... right Demortayse?" Looking up, the colour drained from Leone's face as she realised Demortayse was gone. And she knew where he was too. "Or maybe we will have to go after all."

OOC: For some reason I get the feeling my posts are for the most part ignored. Should I continue trying to RP in this?

Urth found the others players to be a bit odd. Sungiver had jumped out of a 4th story window, and the best thing she could think to do was go on a quest? Whoever had attacked Mesmer, Demortayse, and Sungiver was still out there, and knew where they lived. Furthermore, coming into contact with these people might have put his own life at risk. But since there wasn't anything more he could do...

"There wouldn't happen to be room for one more on this quest?"

Sun Mar 20, 2005 1:21 pm

Mesmer grinned and said, "There's always room to join our quest. It'd be boring to just sit around and do nothing all day waiting for our friend to just rescue himself. Why are we clustered around here anyway? Let's be off people!!! To victory and sure death."

He was unusually perky for some reason.

"Why am I suddenly so happy about death and dying?"

Sun Mar 20, 2005 3:57 pm

"Ow..." Kyma groaned, sitting up. Oddly enough, the terra cotta shaman mask clipped to her belt was still whole. The last sparks of the surge wore off, and she felt slightly better. She looked at Mesmer, who had saved her life once already. Adventure sounds good, she thought, Maybe I'll find out why I keep getting visions...and how I suddenly got so powerful. She sound up and stretched her arms. "Yeah, he's right. Let's stop standing around and get this quest over with!"

Mon Mar 21, 2005 7:34 am

Leone grinned, "Off we go then!" Grinning like a mad beast, she flew out of the hall and did a few corkscrew whirls before shooting through the Diamond Gate. Her whole vision sparkled with a rainbow of light, it surrounded her, and for a few moments she felt like she would be lost in it forever. Then she emerged at the other end of her precious gateway.

The other gate was covered with sand, whirlwinds of dirt and a few leaves flew not far from it. The whole land was barren and desolate, a wasteland and desert very far from the nearest town. Leone smiled fondly, "This place hasn't changed a bit."

Mon Mar 21, 2005 8:45 pm

"Wait!" Kaei said running to the other side of the gate doing whatever she needed to do to get through. "Mind if I join you I mean it would give me sometin to do and who knows I might come in handy" Kaei asked sungiver catching her breath.

Tue Mar 22, 2005 12:12 am

Kyma took a deep breath, and ran head-on to the gate. She slipped through, but while in the 'tunnel' instead of seeing rainbow colored lights like she thought she would, she got another vision. It was of a huge circle, like a mirror, the edged made of ruby, sitting on a short stand that raised it about a foot off the ground. Inside the ruby edges was a sort of glass, red orange and rippling. If she remembered the tutorial, it was the ruby gate...

Kyma immerged next to Kaei, feeling...perky, almost. She looked at the assassin. "Hey, sorry about earlier," she said, tapping the bottom of her staff on the ground. The wood seemed to collaspe on it's self, becoming about the size of a ruler. She tucked it into a pocket, and unclipped her mask from it's loop. She put it on, transforming again into an electric blue bear.

Tue Mar 22, 2005 12:27 am

Mesmer didn't feel too well, now that the perkiness had worn off. However, he tripped into the gate so he decided that fate would have him go. He just had to check on the character status. Once again the screen flashed red and he was confused.

He wondered, "What kind of weird prank is this?"

He began to feel sleepy. This wasn't right. He waved it off and followed the others.

[Oh and yes, I'll be fine...up until the fight with the sorceress...]

"I guess I'm comeing." Kaei said as she looked over to Kyma "Okay truce?" she held out her hand as she smiled at Kyma

Tue Mar 22, 2005 12:51 am

Kyma glanced down at the long claws coming out of her paws. So, instead of shaking Kaei's hand, she nudged it with her furry head. "Truce," she said.

(( I'm changing the sorceressed name to Avalkazan.... rather than... whatever it was before ^_^))

Sungiver scanned the desert hastily, "Is everyone here? It will take us a full day to march through the desert, and you must all stick close Mesmer and I, or you will surely get lost." Sweeping her eyes over the group of people who had joined them, she lifted off the ground and set out across the desert. Whirlwinds seemed to swirl all around her, so she quickly drew Soultwister. Holding it vertically between her claws for a moment, she swung it out in a wide arc, a ripple seemed to pass through the torandos and they parted, allowing enough room for the group to pass without getting caught.
