Against Neopets rules or just against morals?

#1 Post by o_0 »

I was at a NeoBoard today. I saw this girl who said she got a game avatar for everyone in her guild. I told her that it was against the rules to do that and that I reported her (yes, call me report happy, I don't give a crap). She and the other people at the board said that I was going to be "iced for false reporting" and that "I had no proof." The girl admitted that she got it for everyone in her guild. She just plain out said it.

Now what I'm wondering is whether or not playing games for others is against the rules. I have gotten two submission reports back saying that it was (but those were about a year ago, so they may be outdated), although I see it happen all the time and no one ever gets warned or frozen.

I'm 100% sure. I'm not saying I haven't done it for guild mates in the past, but I'm well aware it's against the rules..

I'm pretty sure it's immoral, but i don't think it consistutes a freezing. Maybe a long, painful suspension, but not a freezing.

If you read the Terms and Conditions (http://www.neopets.com/terms.phtml), you will find that it does NOT apply. Don't get me wrong. I'm against this type of stuff, but TNT has not stated it explicitly in their TaC that this is banned.

I know some of you will say that TNT doesn't follow their own rules, but that's useless critism. LOOK AROUND YOU. Does any of it seem fair? Have the CEOs of large corporations played fair? Have they followed all the rules? NO.

This is life.

Get used to it.

I agree, TNT is probably just ignoring the poepl that play games for other people. There are too many people that do that.

ccy, if you get suspened for 2 times for the same thing, then you get frozen. Getting other people things that they can't get themselves is not really bad at all. People do it in everyday life. It's just like you explaining to someone a math problem that they wouldn't have gotten themselves. Or teaching someone to drive. (people don't learn by themselves)

They WILL get frozen, due to the lack of morality on behalf of the Neopet Team. They do not follow the implied rules, so they WILL get punished. It's unfair. So what? Like I said, Get used to it.

If it's against the rules, I'm an ice man.

And one question.. Will the person giving or getting the avatar get frozen, or both?

This all goes back to a really old PPT article that stated that TNT will freeze you if you try to cheat. I'm not sure if that applies, but I'm pretty sure.

-looks for article-

[EDIT] I think this is it :: http://pinkpt.com/index.php?page=scammed_truestory / http://pinkpt.com/index.php?page=scammed_truestory2

People report these things because, yes, they may be jealous, or they would like to remain in an elite group of neopians who have a certain avatar. We care because humans are NOT perfect, and they DO suffer from envy. We like to THINK that we are doing something good for the general public, while actually hurting them emotionally. Now this is NOT to say anything about the people in this thread, but it is a useful thing to remember in general.

TNT warns people that whoever wants to share an account with them is trying to scam them.
That's not always the case.
Just because they warn people not to share, doesn't mean it's against the rules.
Not everyones a scammer whos gonna steal your account.
There is a thing called trust.
For having trust doesn't need to end in freezing.

ccy, remeber this. It's a saying in New York City. Mind your own business unless it affects you. I'm not even saying that. Getting another person an avatar does not affect you. Especially a game avatar.

That is simply proving the fact that some people are human. It does not affect me. Doing so is a sign of kindness, which is not against the TaC either. If the world had no kindness, we would either:

(1) Be dead.
(2) Not be born.
(3) Be tortured.
(4) Be blackmailed.
(5) Be lied to.
..and many more.

People will be people, and that will not change. The attitude of any given person will not likely change.
