Thanks to ComingSoon.net for sharing this piece of Potter-intensive news from ABC: those who tune in on May 7th to watch the network's broadast of "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" will be treated to "an exclusive first look at film clips, cast interviews and behind-the-scenes footage from the fourth "Harry Potter" film, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire." Expect these bits to be sprinkled throughout the broadcast, so you Potter fans better set your VCRs (and TiVos!)

"Goblet of Fire" is the fourth chapter in JK Rowling's Harry Potter series; Mike Newell ("Pushing Tin," "Mona Lisa Smile") is directing this installment, and screenwriter Steven Kloves ("Wonder Boys") is still on board, having adapted all four of the Potter movies."

Don't you start. Do you have any idea what I have to go through sometimes to get the UK (aka, the good) version of a CD? It's either pay nearly twice the amount it's worth to buy it imported online, or have a friend in the UK buy it for me (which I've luckily been able to do this time, I LOVE YOU STEVEN!).

Back on topic... I'm sure within a few days it'll be available online to watch or download.

Ooh, this is something I wanna catch.

For those Canadians out there who have Shaw Cable, try the 131-134 channels; at least that's what it is in BC and Alberta. You'll get US channels (NBC, CBS, Fox, ABC) in EST time slots. If you have HDTV (301-306), you'll get the same channels in PST or your local time zone, I think. That is, all this is only possible if your subscription allows it.

HDABC (303 here) or WXYZ (133 here) is what you're looking for May 7th. ;P

To all not living in the US:

You do realize that the second the program is done, hundreds of fansites will have the sneak peeks up for download?

Honestly.

Anyway.

I'm just going to be crossing my fingers and hoping for no more dissapointments. They've already cut S.P.E.W. out from the script, they're wearing tuxes/dresses instead of robes for the Yule Ball (okay, so this is a minor nitpick. But I'd been looking forward to seeing actual dress robes.)... The Dursleys aren't going to be in the movie, and worst of all, they're cramming a book that's over four-hundred pages long into two and a half hours. I mean, hey, I wouldn't want to sit through four hours of movie, HP or not, but wouldn't three hours, or two movies, be a bit better?

Alright, so now that I'm done ranting, I might as well suck it up and admit that I'll probably like the movie anyway, even as I mutter under my breath that Hermione has bushy hair and how Molly Weasley would murder Ron if he ever grew his hair out (actually, she'd cut it before he did so. The only reason Bill has long hair is because he doesn't live in the Burrow anymore- he's in Egypt.). Remember how much I yelled and ranted about PoA, and then ended up drooling over it?

can't find the sig from this set, so instead, you get a <3 .

no SPEW or dress robes :(:(

tbh, i havent thought that much of the films so far. they're good films if they were standing on their own, but nothing compared to the books. also, a lot of the stuff in them is nothing like i imagined it

and about the CDs what do you mean the good version? o_O

Bonus tracks. It's usually the UK version, sometimes the Australian version.

-------

Anyway, I can't decide what I'm looking forward to more, the 6th book, Half-Blood Prince, or the movie for the fourth book, Goblet of Fire. I mentioned this to my brother (he's only seen the films because I forced him to). He then jokingly accused me of crossing over the the dark side and betraying the books, or something like that. But then I explained that I'm looking forward to the movie, because Goblet of Fire is my favourite of all of the books.

And you know, I've said it once, and I'll say it again. As far as books being adapted into movies goes, so far the Harry Potter books have done remarkably well in staying true to the original works. We have to give them credit for how well they have done, rather than tear them up over the things they didn't do well.
Just look at some of the films adapted from Stephen King books. Or even worse, Queen of The Damned, which tried to squeeze two Anne Rice books into one movie, left out great chunks of the plot, and then changed and twisted everything that was left to make it appeal to angsty teens.
Believe me, the Harry Potter films could be much, much, much worse.

Also. I remember last year, everyone was freaking out and saying that they'd done away with the school uniforms in the movie due to production photos of the trio at the Shrieking Shack (Hermione in the pink hoodie and jeans). Even though there were other production photos showing Harry in uniform, people still kept moaning "OMG! I can't believe they got rid of uniforms!" Some people just don't listen.

:( I loved S.P.E.W. That was one of the best parts of the book that had the funniest results. *pouts* I'll still see the movie...but I might get kicked out of the theater for complaining too much. (GoF is my favorite book, I've read it about twenty times so I'm sure I'll have a million things to nitpick on.)
