I always forget about the academy! Anyway, i'm sure dubloons will be going up also and besides, i'm a supporter not a battler.

I'm so glad I've given up on wars and training, I refuse to pay nearly 7k for codestones, that's absolutely unreasonable.

I refuse to put all my money into training my pet just to receive a t-shirt worth 500 np for all my hard work as a war prize..

That's why there's such a thing as the Lab Ray. You let that annoy you to no end before even trying to waste NP on codestones and dubloons :P

Ahh, that reminds me. Lab map pieces went through the roof last time round. The expensive bit went close to unbuyable. They started to rise after the begining of the war, once codestones has gone almost as high as they were going to.

I wonder how high they'l go in a long war o_O

Turkish, I know, I feel the same way. I just put my battle pet in for another training session (trying for 125 strength boost) and needed a zei and 2 main codestones. They're close to 8k each now! So this session is costing almost 21k.

So after this war when things finally calm down, I'm going to every day buy a few codestones and stash them if I don't feel like training. Just in case. I never get any from tombola or RE anymore :(

Ooo. I still have some unused codestones I stocked up on the last time the Mystery Island Training School went down for maintainance. I was going to use them to train my battle pet, but I haven't used them all. Once the war actually starts I think I'll sell them all. I can wait to train again until prices go down.

I think I have a bunch of two dubloon coins, courtesy of Coltzan, too. My battle pet is too strong for the Academy now, and I don't train my other pets unless it's free, so I just threw them in the SDB awaiting the next war.

I guess I'll clear out the last remaining stickies I never sold after the last Meridell War, too.

Every time there's a war I wish I had hoarded more. The last few wars I was just to busy to spend that much time and energy on Neopian wheeling and dealing. Next war, maybe.

Repriced that one piece I have (the hard to sell one) in anticipation. And I was gonna lower it 10K because it hadn't sold yet!

I had no idea I had a dozen codestones in my SDB until I saw this thread! :D I sold my main for 7299, going to sell the others in a few days to see if they raise in price a little.

Just a word of caution to those of you stocking up on items in hopes to resell them for a higher price: Best not to wait too long to sell them.

My first war, I got into the buying frenzy and bought codestones and faeries thinking that they would go up even higher. Then the war ended--abruptly. And prices dropped quite a bit. I had to sit on those codestones and faeries until the next war--just so I didn't suffer huge losses. Similar thing with the last war: the first weekend of it, I watched main codestones go above 10K and sticky snowballs soar above 2000 nps. Then boom, the prices of both dropped drastically--even though the war was still taking place. And never got that high again.

And, I'd be a bit cautious with those map pieces. They did rise quite high in price during the last war. However, if you are not careful, you are liable to be stuck behind a map dealer on the shop wiz and never sell it at all. The secret lab map dealers on Neopets are extremely competitive--and do pretty much nothing but buy and sell map pieces all day. And, undercut someone's price by 1 np.

I have sold my last codestone. I don't think I got the maximum profit out of them though - the peak normally comes when the first wave or challengers are released.

So why didn't you wait until then?

I'm waiting until then before offloading my codestones and dubloons. Faeries too.

I was too impatient. :P Anyway, I still made about 1.4 mil (didn't hoard much ), and I think the difference would be less than 100k.

Also there is the chance that prices will drop rather than rise after the excitement has died down.
