Musical Talents?

#1 Post by AFI_Sorrow »

Just wondering how many people either play an instrument, sing, play the kazoo amazingly well or are skilled in the art of the bongos.

I used to play guitar, but I never owned one. (I would play my brother's.) So that pretty much stopped when I moved in with my mom. And I used to play the piano, but I wasn't very good at that either. I didn't have room in my new apartment to take it with me either. :( I sing sometimes, but just like my instrumental talent, I'm not very good at that either. But I love singing, since it calms me down.
If I could play any instrument in the world, it'd be piano. I just love the way it sounds and the way the keys feel on my fingers. :)

How about the rest of you?

Hm. Well, I was in vocal class for two years (Forced) and the teacher said I was good, however, I think she's deaf. I don't know if I think my singing is good, probably not, but I do sing occasionally.

As for instruments, I would love to play the piano. That way I could play some nice songs (No, not only Evanescence).

I sing on occasion, and I've been playing the flute for 6 years. I'll never join band, though....Why be in a section no one hears? :p

I play the saxophone quite well, though I haven't picked it up for at least 2 months due to other committments.

I also have a reasonable singing voice. I can hold a tune and it's not weak, but it's nothing extraordinary. I have a small degree of choral training which means that I can cope pretty well with the demands of popular music ;). Also, though I'm nothing amazing voice-wise, I have a pretty good knowledge of the mechanics of singing and am rather good at evaluating somebody's singing.

Trust me, the flutes can be heard loud and clear. We were always told to shut up, and in high sections sometimes we'd end up with only half of us playing. :P

I play the flute, though it's been lying neglected in my corner since I've moved. Other than that, not a thing.

Hmm, played the claranet for 3 years in the school band, and the piano for 5 years on my own ( with a teacher)... I also went to chorus for the second half of 6th grade, because I failed regular music class :D

None. Nada. Absolutely no musical talents whatsoever. Okay, okay, I admit I'm musical but I've never had the staying power to keep up with any instrument. Dance takes up too much of my life!

I've tried to learn to play guitar, but that didn't work out too well. Mainly because one day I just said "Why don't I read a book instead?", takes less effort.
I guess I can sing okay-ish though, since I've been offered to join a choir twice. But ...that's not my kind of singing, really. :P

I've got no musical talent. I would like to play the piano though. I know I want to so much because when I listen to songs that have been done with a piano I pretend to play the piano with my fingers tapping on an even surface. Usually the pull-out shelf thing that my computer keyboard sits on XD

I play the euphonium. It's the best instrument ever, for those of you that don't know. I also play piano, and I fiddle around with the trumpet and guitar.

Eh...I've been playing piano for over ten years and have perfect pitch. Everyone is convinced I have a musical talent and I'm good at it...

But I really don't like it that much, and if you tried hard enough, you could probably acquire perfect pitch. *shrugs* I mean, I had it forever and didn't realize that not everyone could do that. I thought if you were a singer or played an instrument, you just knew it. Supposedly, it's "special" though.
