All I know is that I've been unable to fish more than once since it came out. I'm getting a little cheesed off, frankly.

On the timer resetting: some are saying that it's every 24 hours per pet, some are saying that it's reset every time you try to come fish and can't, so that theoretically you'd never be able to fish again (if you check every 23 hours or so). Does anyone know?

I know that it must be the timer reset thing must be right, since I was able to fish with one of my pets three times in less than 24 hours.

I've been keeping track with all four of my pets... doing different times. I think it's 4 hours in between. However, if you reel in your line at anytime, it resets the timer.

Yesterday I tried with my Ixi. I got an Old Rotten Left Shoe. At least I think I did, the Pant Devil stole it a few minutes later.

Today:
Ixi: Giant Red Kelp + Lvl Up
Yurble: Breadfish + Lvl Up
Aisha: Scrawnyfish
Hissi: Old Rotten Left Shoe

I tried yesterday at 2:30 PM CST, and again this morning at6:30 AM NST. I got a boot the first, and was told to wait the second. I wonder if perhaps it's 12 hours rather than 4?

I think it is every 12 hours because I tried earlier today (less than 12 hours from my first try) and it wouldn't let me. I just went and caught something, more than 12 hours from my first try.

For one of my pets, it gave me an error page, and then said I needed to wait. I checked my inventory and didn't see anything. Oh well...

I'm confused. It is less than 24 hours, and 3 of my pets were able to fish and one wasn't- he was told to wait.

He happens to be the one that went up to level 2 yesterday. I wonder if level has any effect on how often you can fish.

There is waaaaay too much thinking involved in this. I'm gonna go smash something.

I don't think levels influence it because all of mine could fish after 12 hours, regardless of being level 1 or 2.

That's what happened to me, all but the level 2 pet got to fish.

I'm now almost positive it's completely random. I just tried again after waiting seven hours. Two of my pets got items, and both gained in fishing skill. My other two pets were told to wait. What I'm thinking is, every time you click on rell in your line, the amount of time you have to wait to catch the next fish is chosen. Wether it be 1 hour or 24, it probably always automatically allows you to fish after, say, 24 hours. I'm not certain if fishing level determines catch, but that only seems logical to me. Now, what I want to figure out is, what are the randomized times? (If I'm correct) I'd like to know, what are the parameters for time between catches? Is it 1-24 hours, is it at least 2 hours, and not more than 24? And does anyone know if wait time has any effect on the relative rarity of the item and the chances of leveling up?

*Edit* Oh, and two of my level two got to fish, and one of them didn't.
