The big screen and the small screen... together at last! Hurrah!

Johnny Depp was on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno Wednesday night..... it was cool, he was funny...
He said that even as a kid he watched stuff like Mr. Rogers and Captain Kangaroo, and even as a 5 year old, thought that the "Hello, children, how are you?" thing was just...unnatural and tried to bring that to Wonka
"Everything in this room is eatable. I'm eatable, but that, my children, is called canabilisim, and is frowned upon in most socities" <--best quote ever.

I watched him on Leno the other night too.
I don't like seeing him being interviewed. He's like WAY too serious. Even when he's joking around it's like.. I dunno... too serious and dull and gloomy.

I loved loved loved it!!!
Fabulous.
Johnny Depp was fabulously creepy.
I liked how it like went into his past, because its good to know why Willie Wonka is why he is.

I agree! It was great how they had the original Oompa-Loompa song lyrics from the book. Depp was good, but for me, Gene Wilder, who played Wonka in the original movie, will always be Willie Wonka.

I saw it last night, and I thought it was absolutely amazing. Johnny Depp was so incredibly creepy, it was awesome

Everything he said was somehow hillarious, and the Oompa Loompa musical numbers were INSPIRED.
Tim Burton and Paku Romi seriously need to arrange a death match for ownership of my soul....

Yeah I saw it last night and loved it more so than the original since the singing was cut down and gave more info about Mr. Wonka, and Depp as Wonka was great. I had the most uncomfortable seats ever, but I still loved it.

I just saw it and I must say, I applaud Tim Burton and Johnny Depp, they did a wonderful job on this movie. I loved the songs, the history, the funny little ways to create chocolate...Basically, I loved the whole movie.

I just got back from it...that was...ehrm...interesting!
Is it me or do lots of directors like to make backstories for old-timey characters? First The Grinch, now Willy Wonka. Not complaining, though, it adds a lot to the story.

I saw it yesterday it was really good. My Mom says Tim Burton is a creep but this movie was good. I like the Oympa Loompa songs. And if you hated the movie completely, hey at least it has a good mural

I think the word you're looking for is moral, unless you're referring to a large picture painted on the side of a building.
And Tim Burton would be nothing without the creep. That's what makes the movies so good - you don't know wether to laugh or be vaguely creeped-out.

I loved the movie, the backstory of Willy and the ending was really nice. It was different and at first I was like "Wait, that wasn't in the book." But I still liked it a lot. I liked how Willy was kind of a crazy kid who never grew up. The special effects were awesome. I thought Violent was never going to stop blowing up. Around the point it looked as though she was going to explode, I was like, "Ok, you can stop now..that's enough..oooh..that is way too much." I mean, she got so HUGE. And well, Agustus falling into the chocolate feaked me out and so did the squirrels. I thought it was funny how Charlie asked Willy how the Ompa Loopas already had songs written, as if they knew what was going to happen. Yeah they knew. I always thought they did hehehehehe.
