I was raised christian/jewish, but I'm agnostic now.

if I had to choose, it'd be taoism, but I don't like organized religion.

I felt exactly the same... kinda. My Dad was christian, and I used to be also. When my Mum and Dad split up, my Mum re-became Wiccan, just like her granny. We're now a Wiccan family.

It's so weird for me to hear about adult Wiccans and Wiccan families... I've only ever met two other Wiccans, and they were just-converted kids who were unsure about what they believed. It does make me feel kind of unique though :D

-nods- I know what you mean. I am the only Wiccan in my school, and it makes me... kind of... ashamed. I know I shouldn't be, and I'm not, but I always feel really different (but badly so) whenever I mention it...

Mmm, understand. My friend's mom actually wouldn't let him hang out with me for a while because she thought that Wicca was "evil" and I was going to "corrupt him." *sigh* I'm glad that's settled now, and now she understands that it's not evil and in no way and I am going to corrupt her son. In my school there are very few serious Wiccans. It's always nice to meet another Wiccan though. :)

Catholic for now, at least. I believe in it and I've been raised Catholic, but I don't agree with some of it's principles. But I do believe in God/Jesus.

Atheism is NOT a religion. Don't put me in that category!

I call myself a "devout agnostic."

A friend and I, discussing it back in our college days, decided that -- defining agnosticism for ourselves as believing that it's impossible to know without making a leap of faith -- he was an "agnostic theist" and I was an "agnostic atheist." I.e., he made that leap of faith, I didn't.

Actually, I strongly doubt that there's any deity out there (and I find it even less likely that any one earthly religion has "got it right"), but I don't absolutely know it as a matter of fact. That's why I disagree with those who say an agnostic is "just a chicken-smurf atheist." It's a difference of philosophy.

But yeah, I'm probably at least 99.9 percent atheistic in my agnosticism.

As noted, however, atheism and agnosticism are not religions -- any more than "bald" is a hair color.

I suppose I'm agnostic. I feel like if you live your life well, stay away from anything too horrible, and help others, if there is a higher power in the end, they'll understand.

Who gives you the right to say what's not a religion and what is?

I'm a Roman Catholic.

Went to a Catholic school for many years, and go to church every week.

Raised strict Irish Catholic ... ran as soon as I could away from that. Was a Buddhist for quite some time, then started reading and found Wicca.

So, yes, another adult proud adult Wiccan (20+ years practicing) here.

My roomie is the only rl true atheist I know. She literally doesn't believe in anything. Used to create some oddness (raised eyebrow thing) at first when she saw me celebrating my holidays.

I am much more agnostic than atheist most days. So, I picked agnostic. I don't know.

heh, and that's exactly the point.

I wasn't really...raised with a religion at all. my mom's family wasn't really religious, just kind of vaguely christian, and my whole father's family is mormon, but he didn't convert to the religion when the rest of his family did. thus, agnostic.

Well... atheism is, in theory, not a religion.
