But wouldn't it defeat the purpose of the theme, "A race around the world"?

I agree, and I mean, the states are great and everything, but you don't get the 'other cultures' aspect.

While I see where you are coming from with the world travel thing, I don't think they branded this season with anything involving race around the world or anything. This season was more about the family aspect I think.

Also, it's great to know about different cultures, but in reality, a lot of Americans don't know about thier own country- it's history, it's landmarks, etc. So I don't think it's a bad idea for people to get to know the US.

Although I understand if they show it in different countries (I don't know if they do)- that's probably not what you want.

But half the fun of the world version is watching the people go to Asia and yell, "WHY THE HECK DON'T THEY SPEAK ENGLISH???" :(

True, but can you imagine the little kids being in countries like that?

I'm thinking that's probably one of the reasons in itself.

Again, that was my thing. Maybe they want to wait a bit before leaving, because I don't think an 8 year old would be able to handel themselves in a over crowded city in India.

You could call it "The Mediocre Race". I'm sure people would watch that. But that series sounds cool. We have it over here in Britain. We've had the one with 'Rob And Amber', the one with 'Lori And Bolo' and we're on the one with 'Derek And Drew' at the moment.

"The sky is blue."

"The sea is green."

OMG- my little kids scared me. I thought when they were at the wrong pool that they would get evicted.

But oh no- they're back for another day. Since I'm the only one that likes the little kids- they are now reffered to as "Matt's little kids."

And yay for the good family getting first place. :)

I feel sorry for the dad whose team got eliminated.

Oh, and by the way. We were talking about not leaving the US or whatever. I read the TV Guide, and it said that they traveled to two countries the Amazing Race has never been to before, so that must mean they leave the US sometime. :)

Those disrespectful Paolo kids are getting on my last nerve.

Ugh. They are really really annoying. I wish they would get eliminated alerady.

I think I read somewhere before the season started that they'd be going to Canada and Mexico, but I could be wrong o_O

I don't like this version as much. When I first heard about the family theme, with kids, I thought it'd be interesting, but from these two episodes, it seems kind of pathetic. The locale is very limited (I liked seeing all the culture clashes :P ), and those little kids are just - ugh :x

Yah...
That's the attraction to AR I think is to see these Americans trying to get by in different countries.
Since we don't have that yet.. it is getting kind of bland.
Oooo they're going to some other US spot.... whoopdidoo!

But anyways.....
I SO want the Paolo family GONE!!! Good freakin lord they are the most annoying people EVER!
The mother is annoying as heck b/c she plays the poor little victim AND instigator. The sons are annoying cause they're loud as all getout and disrespect their annoying mom. And the dad is annoying b/c he lets his sons do it!

Anyway... I'm still cheering for the Sibling group.. Linz? I think their names are.

Okay, so the episode isn't over yet, but my goodness. The prize for the first place team made me crack up...and also rather jealous. Spoilers ahead...

All licensed drivers in their family (Bransen) get free gas for life. o_o

Yeah, I thought it was awesome that they got free gas.

(I don't think we should post in small letters, everyone comes here after the show to post what they think and most of the time, everyone has already seen the episode)

Anyways, I thought the Gaghan and Weaver family were very annoying. I can't stand them.

Also, who loves the Sibling team? They're hilarious!

AND, it's sad that the father-in-law-brother-in-law's team got eliminated but I guess that's the way the game goes.

Duly noted. I'll stop now, since it seems it'll never change, as much as I want it to so I don't get something spoiled for me by accident in the future. :P

Yeah, I liked the Aiello family. Gaghan too (although I kinda seethed at how they went through the Detour in only one attempt while the Aiellos had what, 14?), just cause they're cool and all and they seem to work well.

But ugh, Weaver really is annoying me. (Why put a front up to annoy people? It's useless!) Paolo too. I found myself once again this week hoping they'd get lost finding the pit stop. Darn those producers for giving us false hope. :(

Roffle- my two favorite teams. XD

My little kids have to stop scaring me from thinking they are going to get eliminated. Geesh. I love how they did the mud thing in only one time though, and everyone was smurf at them. Oh how I love that team.

And I feel so bad for the Weavers. Having to go to a racetrack. Geesh.

Wed Oct 12, 2005 5:12 pm

Man... when that team got free gas for life me and my bf's jaws just dropped.
BOY that's better than any stupid trip!!
I'm sure there's a limit though... prolly like once a week or something.
That's still the best prize though!

And that one freaking family.. The Weavers.. I swear I wanna punch every single one of them... cept for the son cause he hasn't really done anything annoying.
But just the way they were acting.. UGH... Big freaking deal... you had to dehead shrimp... and take a busride.. Poor baby!
I just wanted someone to go over to them and give them a swift smack right across their faces.
And of course we're gonna get more freakin drama from them next week since they're going to a race track.... *sigh*
As I've said befor.. yes it's sad that their dad died but they're still annoying as all get out. I want them so gone VERY soon.

And uhm.. yeah.... GO GO LINZ FAMILY!!! WOOOO!!!
