Spice Girls

• Spice Girls were the first major British pop music phenomenon of the mid-'90s to not have a debt to independent pop/rock. The Spice Girls enjoyed substantial commercial success from 1996 to 2000, and it is claimed that they are the biggest-selling girl group of all time, with reported sales of over forty-five million albums and thirty million singles.
• Members of the group have stated that they do not see any future for the Spice Girls, but the group has never formally split up. Each member has released solo albums (with varying degrees of commercial success, but not nearly in the same class as their group efforts). Each of the girls' solo popularity has waned over the past four years.
• Their singles include "Wannabe", "Spice Up Your Life", and "2 Become 1".

• Making her debut in the early 1980s, she has become the most successful female solo artist of all time (according to Guinness World Records), selling over 200 million albums worldwide.
• In July 2005, at the age of 47, Madonna announced that she would be releasing a new album, titled Confessions on a Dance Floor. Madonna is also planning a world tour for 2006.
• Her singles include "Like A Virgin", "Material Girl " and "Beautiful Stranger".

This is a little tough, I do like Madonna's new song "Hung Up" but the Spice Girls I think are better. I vote for the Spice Girls.

Madonna annoys me with her Kaballah obsession, but she's still better than the Spice Girls.

Madonna. She's been around forever and still going pretty strong. I may not always agree with her actions, and her constant 'transformations' have become a bit overdone, but hey, from Like a Virgin to Ray of Light, I still end up liking most of her music.

I prefer the spice girls over Madonna, I never listen to Madonna and I do listen to 1 spice girl song. So they win.

... that is so true! Madonna gets my vote as well though, the spice girls were just a phase, and though I'm not a fan of madonna, I think that it's fair to say that she's so much more than that.
