School starts for me at 7:55am, though there isn't a bell that rings or anything ... everybody just hangs around outside their homeroom until the HR teacher comes along around that time xP

I'm homeschooled, so it's a bit flexible, but usually around 8:00.

Each class has it own schedule, but most classes start either at 8:00 or 8:50.
But since I'm american and I study differently, mine is:
Sun-12:35
Mon + Tuesday 10:40
Wed - 8:50
Thurs - 8:00

That is really early. I wake up an hour before that but still, some people would have to wake up around 5:00am to go to your school.

As for myself, my school starts at 8:15am. I can't wait till University (If I get in) when my courses will be slightly more leanient.

My high school classes started at 8:10, I think.

In university for my first 1.5 years, I was always stuck with 7:30am classes on MWF and 8am classes on TTh. Once I switched majors, I was able to convince my new advisor that early classes were detrimental to my health (bad insomnia issues) so she helped fix my schedule so my earliest classes were at 9:30 (unless there was a class that was only available at one time). I loved that advisor, she was so understanding.

Well, my first class starts at 8:00, but in High School, my schedule looked just like FM's.

Schools start on the schedules they do because parents aren't always home. If Kindergarten starts later, then parents can shuttle their kids off to school and be home when they arrive. High schoolers are generally assumed to be able to care for themselves.

There's also a limited number of buses, which factors into the decision.

Anyway, on topic, my high school started at 7:20, with breakfast starting at 6:50. Classes ended at 3:00.
