Don't respond, just block them. It's not worht the risk, and they could easily say you're a scammer with little proof and get you frozen.

Some people are so dumb.

Once I had some girl I didn't know request to be my neofriend. I accepted (I always do, just as long as they don't have a score of 1 million on Meerca Chase or something.), which prompted her to neomailed me a little later, the title being "i dun get it", the actual message saying "acepted what?" I wrote back, kindly explaining how when someone accepts neofriend requests, a message from neopets appears on the screen. She wrote back, "sry, i dun want 2b ur neofirend! go %$G35 off and stop harrsasng me!" Blinking at the utter nonsense of it all, I took her off my neofriend list and blocked her. Some people...

Amen to that. What she said is sadly true, all they have to do is report you and you could be iced :(

I've had someone do that to me as well. They said they didn't even know who I was. It sounded like they didn't even know how "neofriends" worked. I think they might have seen me when I used to go on the neoboards (before I found PPT) and added me. It was quite an odd situation.

I also had a similar experience. I few days ago, I got a neomail from someone, I'd never heard from or of them before, and the neomail simply said "who r u?". I replied back saying something like "I would suppose you should know, since you neomailed me first." They replied and said "yea, whateva". At least they didn't report me for something.

You know, I always read these kinds of threads on PPT, but never had an experience quite like these. Then, when PPT went down, I cautiously ventured into the neoboards, and found this species of neopets users firsthand. I had a guy berate me for using big words. I think his exact statement was, "u arn't smart, ur just a nerd, and I hate nerds!". I responded, "No, I'm 24, have a bachelor's degree in Journalism, so I have a large vocabulary." Needless to say, that didn't calm him down, and it went downhill quickly from there. Such was my last trip into the neoboards... PPT came back shortly thereafter, and I pray I never have to venture there again!

In my experiance, the people on the Neoboards aren't too bright (at least they don't act too bright), but sometimes the strange Neomails are like 10 times dumber thatn the people on the Neoboards. It's a scary world out there....

I'm surprised as to how many truly moronic people there are on Neopets. And no, I'm not a subtle person.

I rarely go to the neoboards, and even then the only board I ever go to is the one for neoquest, as the worst there are the regulars who think they know more than anyone else, and of course those users who do nothing but post chain letters. Mostly it's filled with nice people who just need a little help. I've had a few people ask to be my neofriend from there, two people even gave me an angelpuss and a gelert cupcake.

Yeah, my fondest memory of my short stay at the neoboards was when I got into a battle of wits with some kid from Australia. Obviously, I'm online really late at night, and he made some comment about us having no life. I miscalculated Australian time, I thought it was much later there, and so started this little tiff. It ended in me blowing him off (the "battle" started going downhill, and into the catty retort phase), and then I noticed that this same guy bought two way overpriced items in my shop(I had them overpriced because they were my favorite plushies, and wawnted to make sure that if someone actually bought them, I'd have the NP to recover them from another shop.) I asked him why, and he said he just had some extra NP lying around, and enjoyed our conversation. Wierd. Nice.... but wierd.

The best thing to do is ignore... they're silly anyway, and if you continue talking they may report you for no reason.

o.O

That's just...words cannot describe the stupidity of some of these people. At least, not words I can say on a child-friendly forum

This is exactly why I stay away from the Neoboards and anything that goes with it.

Gone, forever.
