I can already tell you that someday i'll send Argaeryth to the pound (when my battle pet will reach 130 hp, defence and attack). He's a lab pet, so you'll probably get it not as a white Lupe and with even better stats.

More details when i'll send him to the pound.

I'm trying to transfer one of my pets from one side account to another. Is there anyway to calculate the adoption cost and to create an automatic adopt link?

The auto adopt link is http://www.neopets.com/process_adopt.ph ... etnamehere where you put your pet name on the end there (it is case sensitive). I think to calculate how many nps you'll need you go to the same link with your pet name and 0nps on hand - you'll get a message saying "oops this pet requires xnps to adopt" or something similar. It'll only work though I think if you have less than 4 pets on the account you use to check it.

Be careful though if you are moving a high stat/painted/limited pet though, there are a lot of auto adopt programs around :S

Which is why you transfer at night. I just transfered a Maraquan Eyrie to my side account last night with no problem, and have recently transfered a Darigan Pteri to a dear friend. As well as a Hissi in the middle of the day. The auto-adopt link, if done right (with an instant messenger) is rare to fail.

What I do is tell the other person to start refreshing the link, and tell me when they are starting. And to not stop until I tell them to.

Then after a couple seconds I pound the pet, then IM them to stop. Has always worked for me. XD

Unfortunately not so much any more if an auto-adopt program is set to catch the species/colour etc. Transferring when it is night in the US still gives you your best chance but it is by no means a certainty that you will get your pet.

Auto adopters move in cycles (or more correctly tnt dealing with them does) so you might want to wait until you hear it is a safer time for transferring. At the very least just be aware of the very real risk that you may not see your pet again (even if, or perhaps especially if its colour is a less rare one). Auto adopt is still the best way but it's chances of success are less than they were. Be sure to refresh the link in more than one window too if possible, or better yet have two computers on the job. Better to be more safe than sorry ^^

Thank you all for the responses. Fortunately for me, the pet is just a low-stat Red Xweetok (I really like the name I gave her), so I am not really worried about anyone else trying to get it, but just in case, I thought I would ask. Thanks again.

Yeah, I suppose those auto-adopters can get to be a hassle.. I've personally never had trouble with one, but looking at some adoption agencys, you can see where others have. =/

The best chance is, of course, to just wait for a time when less people are online. Besides the less chance of people being there to snatch your pet, there will also be less lag and therefore things will flow smoother.

Strange story..
I put this pet into the pound a while ago then yesterday I went to use the quick adopt link and it had this pet's name in it.
I was just going to delete the name and put the new one it but the page loaded and well this pet was in teh pound so it was adopted!

SO if anyone wants him let me know!

OpalStars the Spotted Quiggle seems to be stuck in the Pound. I know it's not the greatest species/color combo, but at least the name is decent.

Wytherwing the Green Hissi comes with a zapped ghost candychan. I don't give out my IM names, so private messages will have to suffice. I'm not in a particular hurry, but if TNT releases the April fool's winner anytime soon, you can expect him to be dumped in the pound. Gender can be changed.
