You know, I should be Luna! Many people have compared my mental state to hers (in that I keep quiet most of the time and then suddenly say something that is peculiar), and I look like her, except my eyes are probably too green. I can probably fake a British accent if I tried, too... :P

Well, there was a thing in the Daily Record that said that there were auditions for Luna in Britain and hundereds of girls turned up, so they obviously haven't cast Luna yet. Well, I tell a lie, I'm Luna, but shhh. They said I would bring a new feel to the character, whatever that means.

George Harris has just been cast as Kingsley Shacklebolt.

Robbie Jarvis has been cast as the young James Potter. Photos of Robbie are scarce, but a reader at The Leaky Cauldron came up with this.

Discuss. :D

EDIT: It appears the link to Robbie's pic is no longer working. Sorry... I shoulda saved it. Argh.

EDIT EDIT: And here is ROBBIE JARVIS, ladies and gents.

Well, it's not listed there yet so I wouldn't sit firm on that idea.

I know nothing about Robbie Jarvis. If I squint and pretend his hair is darker and longer, I can kind of see James. :P

George Harris as Kingsley... eh, he doesn't look much like the Kingsley in my head. Then again Alan Rickman doesn't look like my idea of Snape, either, and I still love him. <3 I'll withhold judgement until the movie is released.

George Harris is pretty close to my mental Kingsley, but not quite. As for Robbie Jarvis, I think I saw him in something the last time I was in the UK. If he's who I'm thinking of, he's a good actor. Can't really say he's even remotely close to my mental image of young James, though.

Well, they're starting filming in a few weeks. It's pretty obvious by now that they've had Luna cast for a while and they're just doing the Scarlett O'Hara bit with the casting calls to drum up interest. I'm going to take that as a good sign. :)

The Leaky Cauldron:

Quote:
Newsround reports that another role has been cast for the upcoming Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix film. The article says that the " role of Magorian, a centaur in the Forbidden Forest will be played by Michael Wildman, his agency revealed. " It is unclear at this point if this role for Michael Wildman is voice work for a character generated character , or how he is to appear in the fifth film. Looks like things are heating up with more great film news to come, as the article goes on to say a major casting announcement is due within 24 hours! Yay! Stay Tuned!

EDIT:
Quote:
Warner Bros. has announced that filming of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix will begin Feb 6, along with a ton of new casting:

The company has confirmed that the strong-rumored Imelda Staunton will play Dolores Umbridge in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, according to a press release; meanwhile Luna Lovegood will be played by Evanna Lynch, who was found in the open call in London, and Bellatrix Lestrange will be played by Helen McCrory, also previously rumored to be in casting talks. Natalia Tena (About a Boy) will play Tonks, while Kathryn Hunter will play Mrs. Figg.

Ugh. I really am not fond of the girl who's playing Luna. I guess I was wrong before. She is just completely not my mental image of the character. Her old pictures are slightly better, but I do not like her. I had such hopes for this character, but not if the actress looks like that. :(

Natalia Tena was actually my random off-the-wall choice for Tonks, though. I like her and the casting picks besides the obvious.

I'm a huge "Dead Like Me" fan (discontinued show on HBO) and was bored one day, searching for pictures of the actors/actresses who play on the show. I was curious about what a character actually looked like, so when I searched "Laura Boddington", this showed up.

IMO, she makes a much better Luna than the person casted. However, I trust the director will prove to us that Evanna Lynch will be a good Luna.

Shouldn't Daniel Radcliffe play young James, too? xP Seeing as he's supposed to look exactly like his dad.

Actually, my mental image of young James is quite different from my image of Harry o_o; He has light brown hair for some reason.

I think it's unfair to judge them before you actually see them in costume and makeup. Wait until the movie stills come out, then judge. :)
