Leopard

#1 Post by Shollia »

So... my bf's sister wants to get a tattoo of a leopard and volunteered me to draw the pic for her...

Tattoo's require really good design skills and that's just something I don't have. I mean I can draw but when it comes to design work.. I totally suck.

And so here's my attempt at drawing her her leopard tattoo. I have no idea what she wanted other than it being a leopard.
I was going for sort of like... no outline.. the color would start in the center of the face and then fade out as it gets to the outter part of the head so all it would be was just the black spots.

Yeah.. I didn't do it very well but whatever.. heh. It's not bad for a pic I didn't really want to do though :P

It's lovely, the shading is very nice, it looks as if its been airbrushed.

Ooh, that's really good. I like the no outline idea you went for.

Offtopic, but color in a tattoo... Ow.

Wow... That is a wonderful piece, but, like Dragonfire said, that would be one painful tat...

Well I decided to take the color out of it... well the fur color. I left the eyes and the nose and she seems to be happy with that.
She has no idea where she would want this on her body though.
I think the only place it would look good would be on her spine on the shoulders.

Link to the almost uncolored version heh... think I like it better this way :)

In the colored version the nose looks a little blurry....

Other than that, wow! I love the detail!

I love the eyes best. I think it's just beautiful how they're lit up. There's even more focus on the eyes in the black and white version, which is probably why I can't decide which picture I like better.

She'd better have wanted a cute leopard, because this leopard is OMGCUTE. Especially as a snow leopard.
Do what you will; but I will hinder it if I may.

It doesn't look anything like a snow leopard though. It's an actuall african leopard. And I don't find it particuarily cute (Leopards freak me out, I much prefer jaguars on the cuteness scale), but it is awesome.
Spots are annoying for me to do, so i'm always appreciative of someone who can do it well, and you've done it very well indeed. And if she likes it, mores the better for you!

Aww, I prefer the coloured version. I do realize thats quite a lot of colouring in and it can start to ache and you just want it to end, but you can take breaks, or go for multiple appointments if you think you can't handle the whole thing. Anyways, my point is that I think the orange really gives it oomf, you know what I mean?

BTW I love it :D
