What DVD screen format do you prefer? Widescreen or full-frame?

I prefer widescreen because full-frame cuts off too much.

Why would anyone watch anything other than widescreen? There is no price difference plus you see more of the movie.

Widescreen letterbox is the only way to go. My mom hates it, I won't watch anything without it. full screen tends to stretch the movie to a point that it's noticable, and I can't stand that. I never really found the "cutting off" of the video a problem, but I can't stand the distorted picture.

Sky - It's simple preference. Full-Screen usually cuts of parts of the movies that most people could care less about. In the end, they're not missing that much as what they need to see is still given to them. Many people hate the black bars.

Widescreen by far. My mom hates widescreen because of the black strips on the top or the bottom, but I'd rather watch the movie in its original version. Plus, if you have a widescreen TV it's good.

Definitely widescreen. I like seeing exactly what I'm supposed to see without things being distorted. If the people who made the movie wanted you to see it in full-screen, they would have made it that way. I also hate full-screen because of the scenes where they have to pan the camera between characters. In widescreen, they don't have to do that.

Full-framed. I feel that its much smaller when its in widescreen. Although I don't really mind either way.

Heh! I'm a rebel.

I don't like widescreen very much. I dunno why, I just don't. I guess I prefer full-screen because all the black on the top and bottom of widescreen annoys me. -.^

widescreen all the way! First because you actually get to see more of the screen, and I have to have closed captioning, which is for me easier to read in widescreen format.

Now if they would just move the closed captioning/subtitles to that bottom black band on widescreen for all movies it would be perfect!

I have some sort of obsession with subtitles, so widescreen for me.
