When someone does play this - get we get a report on how vital the GBA game was in the story? I have played the first game (although I really should get back to beating that final boss at some point) but can't really afford to get a GBA with the game right now.

Apparently (someone please correct me if I'm wrong), the intro of KHII pretty much recaps what happened in both KHI and the GBA game.

No you are correct. The intro movie is a computer rendered music video rehashing some of the scenes in the previous games and the beginning game tutorial puts current events in the context of what has already happed. Roxas has a lot of dreams involving Sora and his adventure.

Sora starts off the game in a state of hibernation and the "Organization" is already in a state of...disorganization due to Sora and Riku doing away with half of the members. All of this takes place in CoM and KH2 continues where CoM left off.

One of my classes got cancelled so I was able to drive 45 minutes home, pick up the game, play for a half hour and drive 45 minutes back for my next class. XD

The assistant manager was cracking jokes about how surprised he was to see that I didn't skip school and show up before the store even opened. Upon hearing that, the woman in front of me assumed I was there to pick up an XBox 360. :P

I got the game as well and yes, the intro does a recap of both KH and KH: COM. So far, it's a very good game (I played only 20 minutes of it due to work)

Edit:

Cyanna, I didn't finish COM, but do we need to in order to know what's going on in KH2?

I could have sworn I had posted...oh well

After playing a bit more....I really don't think you do. They touch on almost all of the important elements. They even have some bits of Final Mix in there, which wasn't released in the US. I'm kinda surprised really. I've never seen some of those scenes in game and I'm sure a number of people may see and wonder where the heck those parts came from.

Ah, I see. Thanks a lot.

I know what you mean when you see new scenes. I'm like "I don't remember this..."

Where are you right now?

Or anyone else for that matter.

I'm currently on Day 5 of Twilight Town. To tell you the truth, I'm really getting tired of these cut scenes. I understand they have to be in but I mean, Kingdom Hearts had cut scenes and they weren't a drag but these ones go on forever. At the moment, I'm just thinking it's to introduce everything and hopefully when Sora comes in, it'll go back to normal.

I got it Monday. The Square-Enix stuff is absolutely mind-blowing, but the some of the Disney stuff feels tacked on or repeated ( I won't say anything, but that's just an opinion.)

Axel is cool.

Now, if you will excuse me, I have to go watch the intro for the millionth time today.

Roxas is also cool. Can I keep him instead of Sora?

I know the feeling.

Sora is fresh out of the pod and right away I was thinking "Awwwww I'm gonna miss that guy" even though he's technically not gone. :P

I'm up to Land of Dragons now. I wish I could play more than an hour/two hours a day. I gobble up cutscenes for breakfast.

I just in love with this game. The play itself has improved so much since the last one. We all know how much the Gummi ship has improved. But fighting is a lot more fun and more visually pleasing than it used to be. There are some pretty crazy moves and combos that don't require a lot of button pushing to get there. Plus they can be fun to watch. The old system got a little tedious sometimes.

I'm in the Underworld (Well, the actual Olympus Colliseum now) but I have a question, did anyone use their "Valor" form when fighting that monster in Beast's Castle? Because when I did, I turned into a shadow. Did anyone else get the same result?

According to the official strategy guide:

"Every time Sora changes into Valor, Wisdom, or Master Form, there is a chance that he will instead transform into the dark Anti Form. In fact, the more Sora changes Form, the greater the odds of taking on Anti Form become!"

The guide goes on to say that in this mode, all of Sora's commands are disabled except for Attack and Return to normal. Sora moves at double-speed, but he also takes 50% more damage from attacks, and he can't pick up HP orbs to heal. He also doesn't gain EXP, and the form gauge depletes faster if you pick up Drive orbs.

Ew, no. He was cool when he was fighting Axel with the Oblivion and Oathkeeper, but otherwise I thought he was whiny and annoying. I was SO glad to see Sora. xD When Setzer called him Rucksack I about died laughing.

Ah, thank you! I actually loved the Anti Form; very powerful.

Also, I got the Wisdom Form finally! I'm so happy!

Oh, on one hand, the Underdrome I believe, is making me angry. I've lost twice now but I think it's because I don't have any potions equipped. But in case that's not the problem, any tips on how to beat it? I always lose near the ending rounds due to lack of health. I miss drives.

Where is everyone now?

I just got to Pride Lands. Anti-form is cool looking and all, but you may hate it if it pops up during boss fights o.O;;

I didn't read ALL the posts, but if this has already been polled, then sorry for posting it again..but are you guys either playing on Easy, Standard, or Proud?
and is there a big difference to it?
