I've played and BEATEN all the teams, but if we're playing other users, that doesn't mean anything. For those who nag about possession first, I find it easier to play a 3:1 spread and let the other team get the ball. most of the yooyus are passed to the right or left defenders and you can strip the ball well within goal range. This works for me and I'm a Darigan Citadel player, which means my team is a bit slow, so no complaining about your opponent being faster. I've used on EVERY team with great results.

Easy NP:
The souvenir shop has started stocking and prices are all be low 5k. What's the thing about the NP then? After being beaten three times to obtain Darigan Citadel souvenirs, I found that they are WAY more in user shops and TP 50-100K!!!!! No research so far for other teams, but Darigan Citadel merchandise is HOT!

NP Note: If the merchandise is expensive now, wait 'till the Cup is over and you can't buy anymore, prices will explode!

EDIT:
How about Altador Cup shopkeepers?

Roo Island merchandise.

Neat... I thought there were none until the start of the Cup. I must check the shop more often.

Losing the hover trick does suck, but it doesn't set me back too far. it just takes an extra two seconds (or less) or score now. I am still having trouble with the faerie ball, if anyone has any advice, please send!

I agree with you about the hover trick - you don't need it.

And people have offered strategies for the Faerie ball, but I can't remember what they were.

Thank goodness I never used this hover trick in the first place. n.n

Ever since day one I have never once got the ball to start.

Strategy is pretty much to run at and a little above/below them, then straight at the player tha ball goes to.

Careful with the fire ball though, if that's passed back you should stay on your team's side of the starting player... because he takes a shot straight away.

You can still quickly click in the centre of the field where the ball is to send a player there... Not sure how well that works.

I'm starting to wish I hadn't used the hover trick. My entire strategy has to change now with so little time left before we start :(

Faerie ball...try to shoot from the middle line of the court right in front of the goalie. It should curve round him...unless you're like me who also has very sporadic scoring.

The AI definitely has got better and we've gotten...worse. Maybe we shouldn't have all been going on about how easy it was :P

EDIT:

The clicking in the centre of the court to start thing works SOMETIMES for me...maybe I just need to practise. I also just scored an own goal by some incredible lack of skill

I already offered my two cents on the hover trick. I've NEVER used it and no one NEEDS to have it to win.

The following is a basic stategy using a 3:1 set:

Fire/Ice Yooyus: Let the opponent get the ball first then take the appropriate action for the scenarios.

*Passes to left or right: Select your player facing the opponent with the ball. Strip the ball and go up for a shot, shooting for the far side of the goal.

*Passes straight back: Select your center character and catch the ball as it comes to you, pass to a side and go up for a shot, shooting for the far side of the goal.

Faerie Yooyu: Opponent gets possesion first.

*Wherever they pass to, it doesn't matter because if it goes back, the goalie will pass it to the left or right. Strip the ball and try to get close to the middle of the goal and shoot straight. Defenders won't make the process easy and getting too close to the goal doesn't help, but when you shoot, the ball arcs according to the side of the field you're on.

Crappy diagram

the () represent arc patterns based on the |, which is the center line. the []s represent the goals, so you understand the center line I'm talking about.

Mutant Yooyu: Opponent gets possession first.

*9 times out of 10 (for me) this yooyu acts like either fire/ice or the OPPOSITE of the faerie (arcs the opposite way for each side). This means you'll generally be able to score using the fire/ice srtategy. The opposite Faerie pattern will actually cause the ball to hook INTO the goal, unlike the regular faerie which hooks away.

EDIT:
If anyone uses these strategies and it helps them, I wouldn't say no to free Darigan Citadel Souvenirs, but you don't have to.

Altador Cup Merchandise is falling in price fast... Better get rid of it fast, or keep it to sell for after the cup.

(Anybody want to buy mine?)

I want some Maraqua stuff! And as for the Faerie ball, that's what I've been doing, but I get too close and so it doesn't work, but if I don't get that close, the defenders are in the way.

Woo, that was fun. Just restocked a Tyrannia Team Hand, Haunted Woods & Lost Desert Team Water Bottles and a LD Team Jersey. If anyone wants to trade me an Altador Team Jersey for the latter I'd be rather chuffed (I'm starting an Altador-themed gallery, got all the other merch items but didn't get a jersey).
Signature, eh? We'll see about that...
