Ad for Lutari Island!

Mods: I could not post on the Lutari Island thread because it consists of 2 pages of people arguing and contains no info about Lutari Island.

I just saw the ad banner for Lutari Island and clicked it. It took me here.

$2.99 a month and it is only for Cingular users.

They only have 3 screenies of it and there isn't anything terribly enticing on that page. I might try it out, but I'm not really sure since I already pay for Premium. I was hoping they'd have more info up there than we already knew (new games, creat a Lutari, etc.).

Is anyone definitely going to try it out? It looks fun, but it's really hard to tell if it'll be worth a few dollars a month.

Ack. I was afraid this would happen. I don't plan to do it either, and I hope Neopets doesn't make a habit of creating pay-only worlds. I'm okay with missing out on Lutari island, but if a larger amount of the site becomes pay-only, I may lose interest in Neopets as a whole. So this Cingular promotion deal worries me as a possible trend, but in itself I suppose is harmless.

Drat! Maybe I'll have to order it for a month or two then. I'm reallllly not into doing stuff like that on my phone and if I have time to sit and play I'm already at my computer anyhow. I want those beads! I think I'll wait til the weekend to sign up so I have a bit of time where I can really check it out.

I'm suitably not impressed. I won't be paying for it. There's really enough on Neopets to do without having to pay for a world.

wait when i said YUPPIE LUTARI TALISMAN i was hoping that the beeds are attainable w/o the phone thingy. cuz i, after all, live in portugal, and don't really think it's coming to me... (even if it did, i wouldn't pay for it for sure!!!)

Now, if Lutari Island was a portal for the cellphone users, but also a place in neopia ... I can see that. After all, they released lutari (and I got one) already. I'd be happy as long as it's not another Movie Mountain *barf*

I'm not paying 3 buck a month just to wander a virtual island on my cell phone.

Edit: If they make Create-a-Lutari exclusive to people who use this service, will TNT then not release any morphing/trans potions in their attempt to keep the computer-created population low enough to make this deal more enticing? I wonder if that was the motivation behind the stupid Lutari pound rule.

hmmm...well, as excited as I am to have a Lutari (I never got one...sadness cause I was looking so forward to it), I don't think I'm willing to pay $35.88 a year for something I can only do on my cell phone and I'm certainly not willing to do it just for the pet. I agree. If this becomes a trend, I will be very disappointed.

Way too expensive. $3 a month over the monthly bill and internet charges can be through the roof. Maybe Lutari island will be accessable both online and on phone but some options can only be accessed through the phone.

Once an item is received using a phone can you sell it using a computer??

this is so wrong. all our fellow members, look at the description on your pink poogle toy! we gotta complain about this! really it is bad enough that you have to pay, but in my case i don't get the right not even if i intended to pay! this is just being wrong! they are selling themselves, this is not the perfect game i once entered (3 months ago, ok, but still!!) i think we should make them see we think this is wrong! weapons to the p.... ok sorry went a little overboard here...
