Oooh! Ooooh!! (Raised left hand!!)

Lefties may tend to die earlier on average, but that is because of the way we have to use right-handed things. So right-handed people are actually being inconsiderate and letting us die earlier :P

Like what, right-handed hammers and crap? also, left people are more likely to die from electrocution too. cause the left hand contains an artery that leads straight to the heart..

Actually, it's a very right handed world. Try turning a ring binder upside down and trying to write. That's what it's like for lefties all the time. Try using a pair of left handed scissors with your right hand. You don't realise that the world is made for right handed people.

Oops, back it up, apparently lefties do not die earlier, according to a NY Times article:

According to the New York Times, Tuesday June 8, 2004 , three recent studies shows that lefties are not more prone to accidents and serious injuries. It contradicts an earlier study that did not take into account that many older people were required to use their right hand, skewing the population of older people. This made it seem that lefties were dying off at a higher rate.

And from About.com (a less reliable source, but still interesting)

Over 2500 left handed people are killed from using products made for right handed people each year.

And as for eletrocution, that's only if we're stupid enough to catch a live wire in our left hand. :P

I'm frankly a little surprised how my post triggered this lefty thing... Anyway. No more "lefties/righties are better!" banter, get back on topic. :P

(Oh and Sugarini, no, I didn't realise I put "jumped" for the second one until now. Shows how attentive I am...)

But yes, this is indeed a very right handed world, which is really why I'm training my right hand. Progress has stalled though, just cause summer school's too much work.

And you also forgot to put the second 'i' at the end of my username. But I suppose you're used to one 'i' from LiveJournal.

Funny. I was trying to train to my left hand to do fluently use computer mice so I wouldn't have to drop my pen whenever I was taking notes from websites.

I got pretty good, actually. Though I usually ended annoying any right-handed people on my left. "Move your mouse! You're not even left-handed!"

I always turn my binders backwards and write in them. :P I used to worry I looked weird doing that, but now I don't care.
