Flash games freezing/stalling -- is it happening to you?
Moderator: Moderators
I know this thread is just over a month old, but I thought I should bump it up and let everyone know that a couple of the programmers were looking into the issue yesterday and today, and they figured out what was wrong with faerie bubbles and fixed it! Now I can play all 20 levels again -- I'm so happy.
One of the programmers said he'd try to fix some of the other games next week, but he makes no promises (I guess they're all fairly busy in the offices at the moment). At least now we have confirmation they do know about the problems and can fix them.
If either of those programmers reads this, thanks so much!

I just wish they would do something about the non-loading white screen in firefox. It's been months and Neopets Flash Games are still the only ones that won't run. All other flash and shockwave remains working perfectly.
Has anyone ever figured this out? Or got any theories?

I'm sorry to bump this topic up, but I'm wondering if anyone is still having problems with some flash games slowing down and such? Due to the lack of plot right now, I've had some extra time to play games today, and Typing Terror slows down with each round. It's gotten to the point where I can't even finish the game. When that happens, I close the game window and then start a new game, but even the new game slows down unbelievably by the end. If anyone is still working on this, should I send a bug report to TNT or just wait it out and see if it gets better on its own?

Please do send in your bug report. The more of us report having problems the more likely they are to track down the fault. It's got to be something they have changed at their end. Too many of us are only having problems with Neopets and not elsewhere on the net.

That's great. It's been going on since at least June...Freaky Factory is one example of a game that really suffers from this problem. I also had problems with bumper cars, whack-a-kass, meerca chase (after a dozen tries or so), potato counter, zurroball, attack of the revenge, et cetera et cetera.
Did the programmers tell you what the problem was? I presume that what was happening is that the game would, between every level, attempt to send some data to the neopets server and get a response. My guess is that it would try to send this between every level, and as such as you got more levels it tried to send more data which caused it to flummox itself to death.
Or something like that.
At any rate, I'd be interested in hearing what the problem was.

Cranberry wrote:Hm, not all Firefox users, though; my friends and I all use it and we're not having any problems. I assume you've made sure you haven't Adblocked anything important and have upgraded to the newest versions of Firefox and Flash, right?
The problem only exists with the games on Neopets and nowhere else on the web. Flash and Shockwave both check out as installed correctly. The latest versions of firefox and flash make no difference. And some users with the problem don't have Adblock installed. But for those who do unblocking every single thing and trying again still doesn't make any difference. The only work around that anyone seems to have found is to switch to ie or opera for games playing.
