Haunted Woods Plot Discussion (Split #11)

I think I ended up with 6 for only one of my vines -- one of the middle ones. I tried starting with 6 of the first type, but it was too weak. I ended up not needing any of those. What I did was start dropping, but it got too short so I started adding one of the other ones. When I'd added enough of the other type, I started dropping the first type. It became too short to tell (still no cliff message yet), so I started adding some of a third type and dropping all of the first type. Then I added more of the third type and started dropping the second type until I finally got the cliff message (I ended up only needing 2 of the second type I tried). Then I systematically added 1 at a time of each type to see the effect (either too short/keep it or not strong enough/that's enough of that vine). Getting the cliff message is the hardest part. I'd try writing down the combinations you've tried, using just enough to get the "not strong enough" message. You'll probably not need any of two of the vines, so keep that in mind as you're trying combinations.

Yeah, but why waste your time checking when you get the same "too short" message for every number below 5? Start with 6, and see if that's a strong vine type. If it's not, dump them all and try the next one until you find a strong vine type, then go back and start adding other types.
I think there are many vine combinations that work for individual people, and not just one exact combination, btw. That might be why we support different combination-trying methods.

"Oh, better far to live and die/Under the brave black flag I fly/Than play a sanctimonious part/With a pirate head and a pirate heart."
Ahh, Daze now I more clearly see what you used as a 'cue.' Not the messages as I assumed, but the cliff only. I think this was a fine intuition, and probably indicates the strength of the rope, and maybe as Moongewl said, "the" place to start.
So whether or not you throw all 6 of ONE type together at once, or work your way up from zero, try any one type at a time and see if that gets you to the cliff at least. Then using your preferred method, work on the other types, one at a time (adding or subtracting) for length and extra strength, if needed.
EDIT: Moongewl, I didn't waste any time since my method worked flawlessly. (I wasted more time with starting with all 6 Crumbling --as per your method?-- which it happened I needed zero of.) With my method, by the time I got to the last vines, I was ONLY adding length and my strength ratios were PERFECT. Sorry if I sound like I am being pushy, I am more just trying to re-explain what I really think is the most efficient method mathematically and logically. Depending on how one's final numbers are, it actually does NOT matter whether one works forward adding or backward subtracting. I just rationalized that if 6-6-6-6-6 was too weak, then I shouldn't start with 6 of any. But instead work my way up. Also I think most people add better than they subtract, lol. If my method is confusing too many people then I apologize. Earlier it was touted as being eloquently coherent.

Thanks
I sincerely appreciate all the help everyone has given for this plot. I tend to take both a look at your posts and figure it out from there approach.
This gives me the feel that I actually do try things on my own before I stop thumping my head against the wall and head back here to get the solution.
The vines were maddening as I am far to impatient to map things...I just click and click until things work out somehow.
And ta-da...at last I have the dancing meepits, the comic, and to be continued!
It has been fun to do so far and I too am voting for a war.
Thanks again everyone.

Notice that you can be told the different strengths of the vines WITHOUT getting the cliff message (i.e. "Bruno will snap it", "Sophie might make it", "might not support Bruno", "won't even hold Sophie", etc). Remove weak vines (some types are weak) until you get the cliff message. Then if it's too short, add more vines until it's long enough. DO NOT MAKE THE ROPE TOO LONG!!! I did that once and a monster yanked the rope off the cliff, and I had to GO BACK AND RECOLLECT EVERY SINGLE VINE!!!
GRRR! It took me too long to find the last meepit, and I had already passed through the ring of light about three times finding that meepit. NOW I can't find the ring of light anymore, and that means I'll have to map it out tomorrow; it's too late now.
Oh, everyone thinks I'm crazy, just 'cause I try to warn people about the face-sucking aliens headed for Earth. Yeah, laugh now, have your face sucked off later. When the aliens come, I'll be the only one left with a face, and I'll be using that face to laugh at all of you, even though I'll be sad.

Before you map it out, {which is what I was considering} just do random clicking in the morning. I had the same problem, when I could find the ring of light while looking for the final meepit, and once i had the little bugger I couldnt find the ring.
Ok this may look mathematically ugly, but so long as people can read vine types left to right consistently, I thought it might serve as my logic example. Choose any way you like, I am not saying mine is best, I am just saying it works (best).
Once again I had 5-4-0-0-6 then had to 'go around' once more, but needed only one vine of the first type in my left-to-right, for a final 6-4-0-0-6. Again if one's final sequence were to be 0-6-4-6-0 you might not want to start with the "6 of one method" but that is my opinion.

BINGO!
All in all 20 or so clicks, not so bad with 30 pieces of vine and thousands of combinations to work with.

I agree, random clicking worked for me as well.....

meepits.......grrrrrrrr
Ok I seem to have an issue getting the meepit juice. I have tried just getting to level 3 and sending, getting a score of 400+ and sending and acctually winning 400np (score of about 1300) and still no stinking juice
Anyone have any ideas? Am I doing something wrong? Does Neopets just have something against me at the moment?

Have you tried catching a Ghost Meepit before you play Meepit Juice break?

OMG
I have mapped out the forest after ages of just clicking (which usually works perfectly for me) and it seems as if i REALLY have nowhere else to go!
More trying for me, I guess... maybe this is retribution for me getting the water plant in about 10 clicks...
